The Art Of Copywriting-Crash Course Tactics

I know how to write...web content, reviews and emails for clients.

I don't know how to write copy so that's it's engaging and has the end user hovering over the buy button.

What are your recommendations? Preferably I'd like something that challenges me with writing exercises and harsh critique.

I'm being quite broad here because I just don't know anything about this field at all. Who's been there, done that?

I could have saved him the trouble: I have all those ads, except the mercades diesel.

I know I'm going to get flack for this, but I recommend AWAI's course.

Plus they've got a special offer on now which makes it much cheaper than it used to be.

Check it out here: Can You Write a Letter Like This One?

They do what you're asking: Assignments, critiques, etc.

Rezbi, that course was actually my introduction to sales writing. While I think the "Gary Halbert Not-a-Course Course" teaches more (for fewer $$), the AWAI program was a great intro for me. I definitely got more bang for my buck than I have from any college course--or IM ebook for that matter!

The reading list I linked to above...it has reshaped my brain...Robet Collier's book is a magic book, I swear. I've heard a Eugene Schwartz interview and am practically salivating over that book (but I have to finish the Collier one first). Great reading list and exercises on the Halbert site.

That's the part I picked up on. Books, no matter how good they are, don't give feedback.

I did the AWAI course and I think it's a great beginner.

I went a step further than their recommendations. I copied out those ads about ten times each, not the three or so they say.
