Editorial Adwords Ads

Have you seen these editorial type Adwords ads (that's what they are, right?) being run by The Motley Fool? I just started seeing them for the first time and instantly thought, damn... why I haven't seen anything like this until now.

  • They're display ads. This one just happens to be all text. Most have a graphical element included.

    They've been around for a good while. I see them mainly on news sites, but I'm sure they're displayed elsewhere as well.

  • I see them on my local papers website and even before I started studying copywriting I figured it a good technique. I always tend to admire cleverness.
    Perhaps that's why I get giddy reading copy nazi's work.
  • This ad has been running for some time... maybe even a year or more.

    There's a similar one that's been running for a while too with the headline "The Death of Wal-Mart," not for Motley Fool though.
