Where to writers willing to write for free/passion?

I own a celebrity gossip blog that is growing daily.. Unfortunately it's just me and I can only write so much myself. I have been browsing some of the other celeb blogs that are big and they always have "HIRING INTERNS"..

I can't afford to pay anyone right now.. Does anyone have any ideas or advice on where to find writers in my niche that would do it out of fun or passion?

Thanks,
Kim

There are interns that get peanuts and there are interns that get nothing but resume entries. That's the game. You can get interns. Try CraigsList under the Writing Gigs section. Good luck.

Post in your sidebar or nav bar that you take guest posts.

Go to some forums in the niche - specific fan forums, show forums, anything related. See who is posting a lot of juicy stuff and approach them to see if they'd like to guest post.

A lot of people will write about their favorite topic for nothing more than a byline.

Maybe you can tell in your site to write an invitation to join and share the latest information about the celebrities I think many will be willing to write without pay

Great topic to stumble upon. I didn't even realize craigslist had this section. I have a ladies network and am always on the lookout for new writers. Currently I use Elance to find writers, but you "pay" for the writers which can get costly.

If you fancy extending your search for interns globally , there's a website in the UK called gorkana.

It's a weekly email that specialises in advertising positions for journalists, writers and PR professionals. What's more, there's a section that offers unpaid internships and a significant number of these are 'work-from-home' opportunities.

The email gets a lot of traffic and I suspect that you'd be able to find someone suitable from there. The only catch is that there's a small cost to placing an advert - it's about $40 (£25) from memory.

Hope this helps and good luck with your search.

Maybe you could offer some sort of non-monetary compensation? Not all value exchanges have to be in dollars.
