Anyone want to test their copywriting skills for self improvement ebooks

Hi!

I have a self improvement blog at upgradereality.com with 800 uniques per day.

I've written a comprehensive 122 page ebook about overcoming fears and personal obstacles to get the life you dream of living.

I've also taken the best 60 articles from my archives and compiled them into 6 ebooks by related topics.

I made a current "sales" page but it's not converting at all.

If you'd like to test your sales copy skills out you're welcome to write a new letter that I'll put up and share with you the stats and conversion rates before/after (plus I'll mail to my list of 2k readers). This could be useful as a testimonial if you're selling your services as a copywriter.

Of course we can also work out a deal where you get paid if you'd like. It's not like I want it all for free.

Let me know!

I'm no "expert," but a couple things you might want to keep in mind:

    1) You're expecting someone to spend quality time creating a converting sales page for you...for free...so you can keep all the profits and just let them know they did a good job?

If that's a reflection of your sales page (I haven't looked yet) you might need to work on how you position your offers -- because that's not very appealing of an offer at all.

    2) Just did a quick look at your sales page, and you have a giant baby above the fold? What does that have to do with personal development?

You're creating a confusing and confusing message right off the start.

You might want to Google some basic sales page elements of high converting sales pages first.

EDIT: I see you added you'd be willing to pay now...well that's a start.

Okay, your page isn't working because it's a mess. You have a few of the necessary components of a legit sales page but for the most part, the message is all over the map and not at all compelling.

I understand and appreciate what you're trying to do by recruiting a writer the way you are but I can almost guarantee that this approach won't work either. Why? The personal development field is MASSIVELY crowded. The stuff selling in this niche doesn't sell by accident. It sells because people who successfully write for it know exactly how to develop an effective presentation. Could that happen with an aspiring writer? Sure. But it is a huge longshot.

As a student of personal development for more than 30 years I've learned a few things. One of those things is to figure out what works and do that. As Tony Robbins has said: "Success Leaves Clues."

And of course, like most people, I found that out by doing it my way enough to finally cut through all of the crap and simply go with the proven method. People are funny that way, wouldn't you say?

The proven formula in this case is to hire a writer. Good luck.

    Diggy,
First thing first, I would get rid of the baby. Send it home with mom. It's confusing, are you giving personal development to infants?

Ok, the headline sucks! I am not being mean but you don't have to have "Kick fears Ass!" there are many colorful words you couold use than profanity. Grab a dictionary and thesourus.

Check out other sales pages in your niche. Go to clickbank and do some research.

I like that you are using a letter format and not a high glossy web page. The best converting sales letters in my opinion are plain, simple and ugly. It just works.

Check out Joe Vitale's sites if you want see some great copy. Attract money now is his latest. or go to mr fire dot com.

How many repeat visitors does your blog get? Do you have a nice little following? If so, it probably wouldn't be too hard to get a small cookie-cutter sales letter to get you a decent conversion rate.

      Cheers,

  • Hey man, I just read your post on here and, I'm willing to write a sales letter for your site.

Here's the deal: I'll write the sales letter for free but, I do want a testimonial from you. And, if the sales letter pulls in good numbers, I want to know exactly what they are, so I can tell clients what kind of numbers my writing has pulled in.

I'm doing this because I'm a starting copy writer and, I thought this could be a good situation for both of us. You need a killer sales letter and I need a way to get my foot in the door as a freelance copy writer.

It's easy to take the next step. All you have to do is reply to this message I'm sending you on the warrior forum. And we will go from there.

I look forward to hearing from you and send that message right now. It might just change your life.

Offer a percentage of sale to your prospective copywriter... You might get a more qualified candidate in a JV + Testimonial arrangement.

Making a profit off a copywriter who'll have to make such an incredible investment for a testimonial is... well nearly robbery. Why doesn't said copywriter invest that time putting a letter together for themselves....
