What do people think of it... the text only version is below...

<<<start of copy>>>

Hello Fellow Marketers...

If you haven't made a blog already, let me just tell you about a couple of benefits of them:

* Blogs are immensely profitable!

* They are Fun to write!

* Are content driven (search engines love them)!

* Informative!

* With amazing content, they often get repeat visitors!

* Easy to promote (can be through word of mouth)!

* Allow you to use your traffic to get a mailing list or promote your other sites

Although, there is one major set back of trying to create a blog. They do take a lot longer to make profit from, however, if you consider this as a long term side project...

They are IMMENSELY more profitable than most other methods!

Why else do you think so many people have (at least) one blog?

Why? Because they know how much money they are missing out on if they don't!

If you've never started a blog before, or if you are new to the field of IM. Then I have a little treat for you.

But first, Let me describe the approach I've taken in creating this.

Internet Marketing can be so complicated when you start out, I remember doing it myself 6 years ago and was just overwhelmed by the amount of information I needed to "learn".

It's all just so complicated having to do all these methods at once and choosing this over this and...

AAAAARRRRRRRRRGHHHHHH!!!

I used to think to myself,

"Wouldn't it be much easier if someone simplified the process for me and just gave me a method I could just follow?"

This is my approach I have taken for my free E-Report called...

"Just Start Blogging"

This is so simple.

So SIMPLE infact you really can.. just start Blogging.

After all, you can learn all you want, but the real success comes with choosing a method and getting on with it (actually starting to do it).

The report goes through:

1. Choosing the topic of your blog!
2. Choosing the Niche from the topic!
3. Targeting specific Keywords and how to find them!
4. Free Traffic generation!

And a little more as well....

This information isn't exclusive!

However it is valuable and is considered the fundamentals in Internet Marketing as a whole, not just Blogging.

Oh before I forget did I mention all this is...

drum roll please.....

...Free?

Yes, this report is completely free

and there's even a completely free 24 part Mega Email Course available on the download page should you wish to learn a heck of a lot more about blogging.

This BONUS MASSIVE E-Course Includes simple ideas you can put into place to improve your blog.

Yes, this entire report is free, the E-Course is free and the process of completeing your blog is free.

Free, Free and Free....

I can't describe it in a simpler way than that..

What do you think as a first attempt?

Thanks

If you're giving away something for free, your piece is over written.

A simple squeeze page with a headline and some "cut to chase" bulleted benefits will do a better job.

I realize "the more you tell, the more you sell" but I'll bet you can say the same thing on a squeeze page in about 75 words. Probably less. (Right now, it's sitting at 488 words.)

PS: You're not alone. Don't take it personally. I had a compelling cover letter which I recently wrote where I was asked to reduce the piece by a third. I did. Sometimes it takes a second perspective.

  • Well said... or maybe I should offer the product for a small price (hehe).

If i charged a small amount (say about $12) for the information and the bonus, would the copy be sufficient?

Unfortunately, no. There are several "speed bumps." You're making it almost impossible for people to see possibility.

      For example:

"Although, there is one major set back of trying to create a blog. They do take a lot longer to make profit from, however, if you consider this as a long term side project..." (Damn. I'm bailing now...)

"With amazing content, they often get repeat visitors!" (Sheesh, now I have to be amazing. Don't know if I can do that.)

"Allow you to use your traffic to get a mailing list or promote your other sites" (Other traffic? What other traffic? I'm just starting out.)

"Why else do you think so many people have (at least) one blog?" (Now I have to have to write for more than one blog? Sounds like work.)

"Internet Marketing can be so complicated when you start out, I remember doing it myself 6 years ago and was just overwhelmed by the amount of information I needed to "learn"." (Damn it, I knew it. This IS hard.)

"This information isn't exclusive! However it is valuable and is considered the fundamentals in Internet Marketing as a whole, not just Blogging." (Oh, it's not exclusive. Cool. So maybe if I Google "How to Blog", I can save myself $12.)

I could go on a bit more. But hopefully you see how you're unintentionally compromising your offer if you were to get paid for the info-product.

Yes, you'd be better off selling it at a low price because then you would have a list of BUYERS which are many times more valuable than a list of FREEBIE SEEKERS.

I'd recommend starting right off at the top with a problem/frustration they have. Something like:

"Overwhelmed by trying to figure out exactly what it takes to create a successful and profitable blog??? Here's Help: "

Or.... "Eliminate the confusion and hassle of building a successful (and profitable) blog."

Something like that as a headline. Note: The second headline is a command in that it tells them to do something, to take an action. The first is a question which can pull them in with curiosity.

  • Wow Rick, thanks for the above post. You really know your stuff.

As for the products, I'm sticking with them as freebies and designing a simplified squeeze page.

As you said, "keep it short and to the point".

In addition, you need to define your target market more clearly. If you are speaking to "Fellow Marketers" you should understand that they probably already know what a blog can do.

They don't care about things like blogs being fun, and informative. Plus, they are probably to savvy to be enticed by your bullet points.

Again, where is proof that you have succeeded with your method?

Why should they read your free stuff instead of watching TV?
