Marketing to Big Investors

Hey guys I never seem to have trouble with traffic, but converting traffic has not always been easy for me.

I recently landed an SEO deal with a large company that is targetting to stock investors. The company only wants investors that are willing to invest at least $xx,xxx.

What are some opinions on landing page designs and sales copy?

Also will there need to be a sales funnel? Maybe provide a stock tips newsletter or something?

Any help is appreciated!

    Hi stoaf88,

The answer to your question is dependant on what infrastructure your client has and is willing to put in place.

Do they have people on board who can and do write tips and have some authority on the subject.

What is their primary source of income...brokerage fees or the sale of information?

The website has to be fit their business model, not the other way around.

There can be so many options to build out a web property, so it's essential you and your client know the outcome and the feasability of it.

Hope that gets your head clearer.

    Best,
    Ewen

We are just getting started. Like I said I am an SEO by trade but if I can make some conversions I could land a HUGE contract, so obv I need to produce here.

Funny thing is the company/client is a huge corporation but they don't even have an autoresponder in place or a newsletter. So I guess that will be my job.

I am going to start to study competition and try to get some investing tips newsletters going in aweber to get them on my list. I don't really know anything about investing so it is going to be a learning process I guess.

Any more suggestions would really be helpful and appreciated.

      Thanks!

Are they niching investors based on the types of investments they're interested in?

For example, Penny Stock investors are looking for potential for huge returns. And they are generally comfortable with the corresponding risk.

Retirees may be searching for decent returns - have little appetite for risk - with a reliable monthly income.

You may want to pitch different landing pages and marketing campaigns for each market the client serves.

Exactly, we are talking about a green energy company. A big one. So they would be investing at least xx,xxx in an ipo for wind turbine and huge solar projects.

This is the future in energy so it should be kind of an easy pitch I'm thinking, just wondering how to go about the approach. Obv I will be testing around 4-6 versions.

I've done this kind of work before on the company side. Our goal was to establish credibility for the company and get their message out to potential investors.

In your case though it may require a two-prong approach.

            1) Attract investors that a) have $XX,XXX to invest and b) like renewable/green energy.

Then, because your client is proposing a specific stock (if they're working with the company)

            2) Create an awareness campaign to get the public company's message out to the investing public.

Our campaigns generally had multiple components - each from a third party - that delivered information investors could use to learn about the company before making an investment.

Our campaign would include research reports, press releases and CEO interviews. We also used lots of video - when we could.

            Hope this is helpful

You need to be more specific than "big investors..."

Generally, the IPO hook could be appealing as I think most folk believe that after an IPO share price goes up, up and away... even if its a POS company like LinkedIn.

It's a get rich quick appeal essentially, with exclusivity too... find proof of famous investors who make their money investing before a company goes public, "you're a high roller too!"

The green angle is tricky... most market savvy investors know the jury is still out on wind and solar. It could be decades before they're economically viable, assuming technology hasn't supplied us with better alternatives by then.

So I think you're market is restricted to true-believers.

Being green though, you have the government on your side I think... so "government mandated profits" is a good hook. Solar companies for example get a lot of gov't subsidies.
