What do you like most about copywriting?

Inquiring minds want to know.

For me, there are two things I like most about copywriting.

1. Taking a simple product and turning it into something that make buyers just 'gotta have it'.

2. All the free products I get to try out. I remember when writing one sales letter, I actually started to salivate because I wanted to try the product so bad.

Come on. You can tell me. What do you like most about copywriting?

I think my very most favorite thing about copywriting is when I can connect the right product to the right buyer. I LOVE helping people, making their lives just that bit more pleasant.

My second-most favorite thing about copywriting is the actual crafting of the copy materials. This is sooo close to writing poetry it isn't even funny! To choose the precise words that resonate with the readers and totally bypass their conscious minds, speaking directly into their subconscious-minds. I love writing and have studied people my whole life, so applying this to my copywriting is a joy as well as a challenge.

My third-most favorite thing about copywriting is the research. I've always loved learning - and copywriting is a wonderful excuse for boning up on all sorts of really cool topics. Landscaping, non-profits, websites - I love it. And I've gotten into autoresponders big-time lately, which really allows for a wide range of styles/approaches.

Oh, wait. You just wanted what I like the most. Well.... that's three "mosts". lol!

I just get a kick out of grabbing the reader and not letting them go 'til they hit that buy button.

Also, I think it was Carlton who said "all clients suck" but apart from one or two (you know who you are) I have a great time with them esp. delving into their business and watching as they get excited over the launch or increase in sales.

Hypnotic writing. I don't mean that in a
"Oh my God Joe Vitale is so amazing way"...
I mean it in a Robert Collier kind of way.

I like the idea of telling a story and temporarily putting myself in "someone else's shoes" for awhile. Almost like being an actor through words alone. Something about that just captivates me.
