Research: I want to call some prospects on the phone...

Hi,

I want to interview some prospects in my market to get a better understanding of their current thoughts, problems, and desires. But my niche is something that can not easily be demographically targeted (think "dog training")

Anyone know a good way to find prospects who are willing to talk on the phone?

    This is really important. Getting to know your prospects is critical.

    I'd suggest:

    (1) Going to a forum, befriending some people there and trying to get their numbers that way.

    (2) Post a craigslist ad

    (3) Dig deep into your list of friends

    (4) Go to where they are and make friends with them. Dog owners? go to dog food stores etc.

    (5) Read the salesletter of someone really prominent in your market.

      I think the fastest and most effective way to do it is...

      Rent a list of "names" of people in your niche.

      Send them a Letter (full of empathy, and all the copywriting techniques).


      You can ask them to phone you.

      Get permission to phone them.

      Ask them to complete a survey.

      If it helps over them a "bribe" (free information, a special report etc.) to get the answers you want.

      In essence - ask for anything you want them to do.
