News-style printing for offline promotions

COPY WRITING

Hi,

I once received an Advertorial that looked like someone cut it out of a newspaper and mailed it to me. The paper material and fonts were perfect, and there were even newspaper creases for added effect!

I want to match that look. Anyone know how to get it done? (I'm clueless when it comes to printing)

@Delta233 - Those large tear sheets that look like they have been torn out of a newspaper are printed on a paper called "newsprint," and if they are full-size like a newpaper, they are printed on a web press. The large roll of paper used to print newspapers is called a web.

Usually large commercial printers can print these for you, and so can your local newspaper. The set-up for the press is not cheap, but the cost per tear sheet becomes minimal at higher quantities.

In Adobe InDesign you can typeset a mailing piece that looks like it came from a newspaper - or looks like the top left corner torn out of a newspaper, but I don't know if your neighborhood quick printer can print on newsprint paper.
