I know sometimes we as copwriters go back and forth about issues...

...and I don't visit other sections of this forum often, but I read something that is important for everyone to know...more important than how we feel about certain issues...a fellow copywriter needs help.

Some of you may know about this...maybe I'm just behind...but it's worth bringing up.

I can only imagine the thoughts and fears one must have when dealing with something like this.

I'm hoping for the best...and know that a positive attitude can work wonders.

  • Why not? I am thankful. I'm glad you drew attention to this, because it's important. I haven't seen it brought up here in the CW forum yet.

    It's not often you can get a star studded list of people like this giving away big money ideas for only $27.00.

    Anyone into marketing knows that video is where it's at...most (like me) just don't know how to connect the missing links.

      Not only have I signed up the Crazy 8 Webinar but I've sent an email to my lists alerting them about the event.

      Ken's one of the good guys and I believe everyone donating their time is going to bring their A-game to make it a great webinar.

      You'd be hard-pressed to get access to any of these copywriters for such a tiny investment. And as the numerous weekly threads in Warrior Forum show, video salesletters are probably the HOTTEST type of marketing right now. And knowing how to write them is a very valuable skill to have.

    The response to this webinar has been inspiring - I thank you, Ken thanks you, and Ella (Ken's beautiful 5 year-old daughter) thanks you.

    I'm working on the webinar slide deck today and this stuff is bottled lightning, folks.

    And I'm not sure how we'll be able to ignore some of the high-profile peeps that have bought a slot and are going to be in attendance Thursday night.

    I don't feel comfortable naming names without permission - but there's a veritable who's who of copywriters registered for this thing... and momentum is climbing.

    Are you going to record the call for people who can't be there?

      It's mentioned in either the thank you email or in the download area (I forget which).

      Ken has a donation button on his blog (the "I have cancer" link above).

    • YES, Daniel... there will certainly be a replay for those that buy a seat. No plans to release it afterward.

      As an added bonus, we've been compiling the emails each copywriter is sending to his list about this. It's fascinating to see the different directions all have taken. Also some eye-opening in house discussions about how to best inspire people to donate for a cause such as this.

      Carlton, in particular, has some very strong insight and opinions on this.

      I've sent 2 radically different emails to my list over the last 2 days... one focusing on the event and only bringing in the charity angle about half-way through...

      ... and another testing a "transparency" angle that's all about Ken, but with a twist on why they should buy even if they have no reason (or lack the ability) to sympathize with Ken's battle.

      Garfinkel's emails have been more emotion driven, while John's lean heavily on curiosity and cause.

      When else to do we get to see copy tactics like this happen in real time?

      Sure, top dog copywriters might all promote a product simultaneously, but I can't think of a time when this many have been personally vested in a project the way we are in this one.

      There's been loose discussion about compiling all this and releasing it as an unannounced bonus. I think that will be incredibly cool. No promises (the whole ensemble would have to agree to it)...

      ... but I wanted to point out that there are many great lessons for all of us (I know I'm learning a ton) in how this whole project is playing out.

      Most of all, just support Ken however you can... it'll come back to you in spades.

    Ken, you are in my thoughts and prayers too! (And I am sure in many of the members of this forum!)

    I have had 3 sisters with cancer and they all beat it. It wasn't easy for them and I am sure it won't be for Ken either. My sisters all told me that the warmth and support of friends and family is what helped pull them through...

    Ken will see and feel the healing strength from the kind support from so many here on the forum who really do care about him.

    I am sure with all of our help and support, he will feel encouraged to beat his life challenge!
