what do you think of my copy - pls advise me

I did a free website for my local library and in exchange for a free poster -

I created a poster in the summer

- I left some in the printers where i had them printed - an a few here and there at an academy in london but havent had clients from it -

would like some honest constructive criticism - if this was your poster what would you change - or would you start again -

Id also like to mention i designed the library site somewhere - cos that sounds good to a prospective client -

sincerely
Ben

The main problems you are having are:

1 - You are not targeting potential buyers by leaving ads in random places
(eg. they are just random ad noise, which does not get read and responded to )
2 - You are not specializing the "type" of sites you are EXPERTS at making
    (eg. restaurant, dentists, etc )
3 - You are trying to sell websites. But what people buy is a solution to a problem ...unless they ALREADY KNOW they have the problem, in which case they've already hired a designer to work on their website. Instead of selling websites. show the problem:
(eg. You are losing customers to your competitors because they have an online presence, where buyers can see product and price information quickly and easily.
We will work with you to promote your services online for computers and also we
design mobile websites, optimized for people using cell phones to view the internet. )

    RefundHost made some good points.
I'd also suggest changing the color scheme. If these are you're colors it's just another boring piece of paper. You need to make it stand out.
A Great headline can also do this. Here's an article on how to write fantastic headlines. How headlines can save you money | copywritingxtreme.com

If you saw my thread on the main forum, you can see I've asked a similar question about my sales page. I've been ripped up!:p It hurts, but many of the posts had great specifics which I appreciate.

I think your poster has potential. I like the big bold head. Like the previous poster.. I think you definitely need to add color. Personally, I like White, Black, Grey and touches of Red. I'd make the headline red. Also, your Google Logo should have the rainbow colors as the actual logo does. Would use color on the icons at the bottom and make the bottom section stand out w/ different background color as well.

I don't think you need to specify specific niches... in fact... I would highlight the fact that you can build websites for any niche.

Do agree you need to do more than just leave posters laying around. If you want to advertise offline, try putting them on bulletin boards of high traffic areas that have people who might be interested. Could also make flyer versions.

Just a few tips. Good luck.

Probably less words. First look, it appears cluttered on the middle section. So, are you offering a FREE website as stated in the last callout line?

Headline doesn't give any reason to call.

Lots of people have beautiful websites. Yet these same websites are totally ineffective at converting visitors into inbound marketing leads.

    What does "good" mean?

    Get specific.

What problem(s) are you solving for your clients?

The copy focuses on features, a common mistake made by techies. What does "latest CMS Wordpress" mean? I have no idea, and I make Wordpress websites. Do you see what I'm talking about?

Yes I figure it means Content Management System, but no computer novice is going to be aware of that.

Used by CNN etc. are nice references, but what do they use it for? Do they use Wordpress, or do they use you?

Figure out who your audience is. Stop focusing on features. Start focusing on what problems you solve for your clients.

Hi Ben-Ha, your ad to me is not selling the most powerful benefit of a website to a prospective client. A good website on its own is not enough! They also need website traffic to generate leads and leads to generate customers and then sales to make money! In other words, your target market more importantly need a profitable website. Do you get my drift?

Let me put it this way, is there any real value in a good website that does not make money for your clients? So, sell the core benefits of your website not features! People want to grow there business more than anything else. A beautiful website is just a feature.

Free website for Poster. Good Initiative!
What if you came up with a price for a simple 1-2 page website.
Put together a package deal for that price.
That price might be low enough to attract a lot of fence sitters.
Throw in some SEO tips for the first 10 callers.

        Good Luck
