How did you find a suitable graphic designer to partner with?

I know many copywriters pair up with graphic designers to do their layout/design.

How did you find yours? Would you care to recommend them to me? :-)

I need one for online stuff as well as for print stuff.

    They're hard to find.

Currently I'm using Daniel from Webcore - Logo design, brand design, website design, graphic design & stationary design by Webcore Design

His designs are original and he's a professional - no missing deadlines or going AWOL.

I haven't had him work on any copy stuff with me yet - just a few designs for other projects I've used. Usually I work with the client's designer, but if I ever need to source one myself Daniel's the guy I'm going to first.

Always looking for badass direct-response copywriters. PM me if we don't know each other and you're looking for work.

Warrior For Hire is a great place to start. Not only is the quality of work great (assuming you choose someone with good reviews and such), the price is usually very good and you are supporting the community which is always a great thing to do.

I'm a new member to the forum but I've been using services in the Warrior For Hire section for years on many projects.

Warrior for Hire is a place I recommend, but be sure to ask for references (other Warriors) who can vouch for their work. I have had great experiences, except for once, where the work was delivered late when I was really in a time crunch.

I think she's trying to nudge you to contact her as a potential designer partner.

Well, welcome to the white hot light of marketing reality.

When you write - be clear about what you're saying, not clever.

All you had to do was close by saying, "Love to chat about how we might help each other, Olivia" and you'd have a PM instead of a flame.

            ; )

            • I'd be sure to check their folio of work, and the length of time they've been designing. This is a good indication of the quality of their graphic design skill.

Rodrigo Werner has done a few WSO graphics that got to the WSO of the day so he must be doing something right.

NO AFFILIATIONS HERE! Just a great guy overall so I think he'll get your vision.

Try 99designs.com .. although they are quite expensive but they provide superb and top quality projects.. no mia whatsoever!

Most amazingly, you get to choose the design.. if you don't like any of it.. simply ask for a refund

Hope this help, may God bless you,
    Jeremiah

I used 99 designs, and wasn't satisfied. I received only like 5-6 designs, and each of them had to go through 5+ revisions. My biz partner still wound up paying, but yeah, you don't have to pay if you don't want to. Still 600 bucks is WAY too much in my opinion. You're better off paying a decent designer on a freelance website, or finding one here.

As far as my graphics, I either create them myself through GIMP (I taught myself/read tutorials), or purchase images from one of the many image databases where you pay a couple bucks for rights to use an image. If you're going to create a lot of layouts/designs, you can also learn a lot from lynda.com with html, css, photoshop, and any other program videos.

  • I have two clients who have used 99 designs, and subsequently came to me to design their logos (and other material). Both of them gave me the same feedback. They felt the designs they were provided through 99 designs were substandard and not well thought-out.

I agree with Adam Maxum. You're better off paying a professional to design the logo or graphics properly the first time.
