Copywriting of Movie Scripts

Hi, I had a quick question about copy writing a movie script. I was doing some research and found that I should either copy write with the WGA (wga.org) or with the library of congress. Has anyone registered a movie script with either or both and could they share which one they think is better?

So far I have read that the WGA has a much quicker turn around but expires after 5 years and you would have to renew it for an additional fee. And that they give you your registration number in chronological order meaning whoever reads your script will see how old it is.

The library of congress copy write is good for the owners lifetime which is my understanding but the turn around time could take months to get your paperwork.

Some sources even said to register with both. But also mentioned once registered with the WGA I would at least be safe to register the script online for distribution to try to get someone to read it.

Just wanted to see what your thoughts were and if I had my information correct so far.

Thanks

-Jason

    Hi Jason,

You need information about "Copyrighting" not Copywriting which is something very different all together.

My advice would be head to Google.
