Do I need Ultimate Desktop Copy Coach...or is deconstructing winning letters enough?

Hi all!

I'm always looking for ways to improve my copywriting, and I have started writing out winning letters by hand.

It's true--you DO get inspired that way!

However, I'm wondering if I need the Copy Coach course by Clayton Makepeace.

I already know how to write compelling copy (I learned from Paul Hancox),

so I'm not sure if I need yet another course....

...but I've heard a lot of raves for it..so I'm wondering if I need it.

What do you think?

Would my time and money be better spent just practicing what I already know...

...and also deconstructing great letters...

...or am I missing out if I don't get Clayton's course?

Thanks!

    • Hi Olivia,

It really is one of the most ultimate copywriting courses.

The title changed to the "Quick - Start Copywriting System" (it actually does what it says on the tin - "the fastest way to accelerate your income").

It's aimed at serious players who make their living by copywriting.

It could save you a lot of time - yes, you can learn a huge amount by writing out and deconstructing sales letters on your own.

But it's a lot quicker seeing how it's all done.

The course is crammed packed full with "how to" information. With all the skills, techniques and tactics you'll ever need. And are unlikely to find anywhere else.

And it's all perfectly structured. It's easy to read and you'll get dozens and dozens of "aha - so that's how you write it" moments.

It also has an amazing swipe file.

It's all based on CM's proven techniques - and he is one of the worlds highest paid copywriters.

It might be off the market because of the sad demise of Team Makepeaces Total Package (they wound it down because CM is concentrating just on his own copywriting and maybe planning his retirement).

But if you contact their office - they might still have some copies.

If you can - grab a copy (which is 2 massive volumes with lots of extra's) because as you suggested - you really are missing out if you don't.

Interesting idea - writing out by hand. I have not done this in years, but I may give it a try now that you suggested it.

    Hi Oliva,

I love Clayton's Desktop Copy Coach, it is my main bible for inspiration when I get stuck. Clayton has a way with words that inspires me!

I think if you visit his website most of the content is down and the store is closed. You may be able to contact Wendy, his wife, she does have some copies left.

Out of all of the courses I own it is the one that I would never part with. I also have Clayton's Summit DVDs and he is a riot!

Just so you know, I own over a dozen copywriting courses.

From Michael Masterson's Six Figure Copywriting, John Carlton's Marketing Rebel, to Daniel Levis's Effortless Influence, to David Garfinkel's Copywriting Templates and Fast Copy Course to Harlan Kilstein's NLP Copywriting Courses and several more.

I have spent thousands on my copywriting and marketing training. And it was worth every penny.

But Clayton's has a special place in my copywriting bookshelf.

Once you read his copy, you will understand why.

    Good luck with your copy!
