Care to help an aspiring copywriter out?

Hello hello Copywriting warriors,

I'm a lazy-ass bum.

Making money online has been a huge part of my life for a couple of years. I've created websites geared toward getting traffic and making money through Adsense. I can't say I've gotten rich off of it, but I've earned money to pay for some bills.

Then something happened. Something huge that made me look at myself and what I was doing. You see, I've been with my girlfriend for over 2 years and I'm thinking of starting a family with her. "What's so wrong about that?", you might ask.

There's nothing wrong with it. I feel it in my bones to be the right thing to do. I do have a problem, though, and you probably know where this is going.

The money I earn through Adsense ads is just cheap change compared to the costs of starting a family, getting a house of our own, getting transportation, paying for the bills not just for myself, since I now have a family to support. I don't want to send my kids to a lousy school, that means more money for school tuition.

Copywriting warriors, I'm not asking for any donation. That would be cheap of me. I have pride, but not enough to stray me from asking for help. What kind of help?

Finally! The lazy-ass Adsense-earning bum decides to make something of his life and wants to be a copywriter.

But why copywriting? Why not just get a real day job?

I've had day jobs before, and I'm not the kind of person to slave for people who are only looking out for themselves. I prefer to spend time with my girlfriend, my family, my friends, training my dogs, and most of all writing.

Yes, writing. I love reading books. Ever since elementary school I've been reading books for grownups. In high school I've written several short stories, just for fun. If I'm ever going to get any kind of job, it must have something to do with writing.

Hundreds of hours have been spent reading books, newsletters, blog posts and other people's swipe files. I've also collected plenty for my own future use.

I know the basics, but that's it. I don't have any copywriting experience, aside from what I write on my own blog, as well as the websites that I earn cheap change from.

I still have mountains worth of information to learn, and years of experience to get. But instead of learning everything on my own, I want to learn from the greats.

You see, I've been a lurker here in the Warrior Forum, specifically the Copywriting Section. There are lots of experienced copywriters here who have been sharing great ideas, as well as links to amazing ads that I've added to my swipe file.

Consider this post, my "Hi, I'm Wytnyt, I'm an aspiring copywriter and I want to learn a lot from all of you" introduction post.

I will be posting questions as I'm learning, and I hope I won't be bashed for being a noob. I'm not doing this to buy a yacht, but that would be great, wouldn't it? I just want to earn enough, well, more than enough for my future family.

So with this post, I say "Hi" to everyone.

Hi.

    Hi Wytnyt?

Did you create your profile via SenukeX? (SEO Joke)

Anyways, just like you - I'd like to also create something in the copywriting world. I find that this section of the entire forum to cary some of the most important lessons in marketing. Yet it's hidden from the rest of the crowed deep in all the red.

Which is a good thing right?

But still, in behalf of no one but myself - Welcome and congratulation.

Why congrats? ...because usually it takes LIFETIME for people to realize what they want to do with their life's.

    Wishing you the best,
    regZ

Welcome to Warrior forum Wytnyt. Making great money as a copywriter takes really good negotiation skills.

You have to know how to attract and keep the right kinds of clients. I suggest, in addition to your reading, to just start looking for work and getting some real world negotiation practice.

I could give you a lot more advice, but I already wrote a year's worth of newsletters on this topic (check out my signature for details).

Good luck your new endeavor and starting the family.
