Elite Copywriter Needed To Turn A Sales Letter Into A Webinar Presentation

hey warriors,

I have a sales letter that has been converting very very well in the past 6 months.

But with everyone doing webinars recently I'd like to test out a webinar and see how that converts.

That's why I've created this thread.

I'm looking to hire a copywriter who will take the sales letter that i currently have and use these them to create a script for a webinar presentation to sell my product.

Like i said, my sales letter already converts very well so you will NOT have to create much if anything from scratch..what i need you to do is simply take what i already have and use it to sell the same product in a different format (a webinar).

Its like taking a sales letter and turning it into a sales video but this time you are taking a sales letter and turning it into a webinar presentation.

So what I'll need from you when you finish is the actual power point slides for the webinar and also an actual word for word script that i will give to my viceover guy and he will use it to record the audio that i will add to the powerpoint slides to create the webinar presentation.

My budget for this project is $1000 and i would i need this done in the next 2 weeks.

If you are interested in this project then please PM me (or leave a message on this thread) your email and i will email you more details including the niche of my product and a link to the sales letter that you'll be using to create the webinar.

Sincerely.

James.

PS: I ONLY want to work with someone who has written copy for webinars in the past.

PPS: Do NOT contact me for this project if you are a newbie or inexperienced copywriter. I'm only interested in working with experienced copywriters who have proven track records.

EDIT: here's an example in a similar niche of exactly what i need done:

Here's the sales letter selling a product: http://www.thetaoofbadass.com/the-book/

Here's a sales video selling this same product: http://www.thetaoofbadass.com/special/goldfish/

Here's a webinar selling this same product: http://vimeo.com/39607623

I have the sales letter and sales video and what i need from you is the webinar.

  • James,

I'm not a tech person so I'm not the one for this.

But it's great to see a post from a "client" describing exactly what they want.

    And what they don't want.

And giving the budget that's available for the work.

It's exactly what your target copywriters want to see.

I'm sure you'll find who you're looking for.

      Hey Steve,

thanks for the kind words but this job is NOT a tech job...its a copywriting job.

This has absolutely nothing to do with technical or programming work.

I have no idea what made you think this was a technical job.

Actually, you might be looking for a tech person.

If you have copy that's already converting then you shouldn't change a word. Simply pop it into PowerPoint/Keynote, record the audio and combine.

    ...And save $2,000!

Not quite. PP and Webinar scripts need to be a lot shorter and snappier than salespages. There's an art to it. People can scan/skim a salespage. With a video they're locked in. So you wanna make sure you don't bore the ass off them. You start with a bang and end with a call to action - or trigger the buy button.

Can't count the number of completely dull webinars I've heard lately.

I can't justify the price he expects to pay either. There is a difference
between the spoken word and written word but it's not so technical
that I would charge $2,000 to convert a sales letter to a webinar
script if the sales letter is already converting well.

This is about the first time on the WF I would have to say you are
paying your copywriter too much money.

I notice a trend of copywriters niching themselves as a ClickBank,
video salesletter, WSO, etc. copywriters but if a copywriter doesn't
know that he has to write differently for a different audience then
he is in the wrong business. Same for medium.

It doesn't matter how "different" a video sales letter script is the
FUNDAMENTALS of good copywriting and selling remain the same.

Let me say again, as far as a copywriter marketing his services to
reach a customer by niching himself I have no problem with that.
But please don't try to convince me that writing a "ClickBank"
sales letter is so different that it's a specialty.

        hey Raydal,

I've actually thought about this a lot and i agree that $2000 is not needed for a job like this that requires the copywriter to simply convert a sales message thats already killing it into a different format instead of creating this sales message from scratch.

I've changed my budget to $1000 for now.

Like Mal explained this strategy would not work at all...especially not for a webinar....maybe a sales video but definitely not a webinar.

        James,

I think you need to explain more what you are looking for.

Are you saying that you want to change the sales letter
into a "non sales letter" information webinar and so not
        a video sales letter?

I just want to make sure that you are using "video sales letter"
and "webinar" the way it's commonly understood.

A webinar is not a sales letter even if its intended to sell
        something in the end.

          hey,

I'm really surprised so many people have asked me to clarify what im asking here.

We've all been on webinars and we have all read sales letters and watched sales videos...its clear that theres a difference between all 3 although sales letters and sales videos are a lot more similar to each other then both are to webinars.

Anyways, the best way to explain what i want is to show examples:

I'll digg up some examples of what im talking about and ill post them on here soon.

          James.

So you wanna make sure you don't bore the ass off them.
Yer supposed to be doing that regardless of format or length... speaking of the latter, End of America is 1.5hrs long.

Though, I'm confused as to what exactly the OP wants now...

Nothing confusing about it. He wants to do a webinar and use as much of the copy from his sales letter as possible.

To the OP: Webinars have a different flow and require some components not normally in sales letters. The sales letter will serve as good background material for the webinar, but only certain parts of it will be usable in the webinar copy.

Benefit copy and offer copy mostly.

Yes Colm...but...as I said - with a salespage the reader can skip ahead if he's bored. Not so with a webinar.

The important thing is to have a delivery that doesn't sound "scripted". And the best way to do that is to tell a story. People love stories. Especially if it's entertaining. That's what I'd be looking for if I were to do this - I'd try and dig deeper to find an entertaining story. There's always a story. You just need to ask the client the right questions.

Then you need to work off bullet points - again so you can ad-lib and it doesn't sound scripted.

Now I'm curious to see this salespage that's working so well. And to find the story.

As for $2K being too much. Uh huh. Whats your time worth? It could take a week to get this right. So once again - I would ignore that price guide.

If you think you have a great idea...but its going to take some work - upsell the client. Get him to pay more for your time. 'Cause that's where the money is - the time - the research that goes into making sure you're on target. The writing is the easy part.

What makes more sense - paying $1000 for a decent script or paying $2000 or more for a webinar script that's going to knock the ball out of the park and make the client a lot of money?

Pretty obvious. "Quality (and results) is/are remembered long after price is forgotten".

    Hi James,

I'm too new to send PMs but am interested in learning more. I've written and moderated webinar presentations that served as lead generators and direct selling for private coaching, membership sites, and high ticket training programs.

About how long of a presentation are you shooting for? I'd be happy to review the copy and send you an outline. Please drop me a line (my username @ gmail) - i'll send you the replays for the vids i've already done.

    Best of luck,

    Brian
