Does Reverse Psychology Works?

Anyone here ever used reverse psychology for sales copy, call to action, or affiliate review and does it work?

for example :
"why rush to buy this XYZ product. no need to! read this [affiliate review] slowly, think carefully whether you need the product or not, and you can be well-informed before buying. Please, just because the sales letter sounds convincing, it doesn't mean the product is 100% good and will solve your problem."

(the reason I used this is because almost every my competitors' websites will tell its visitors to buy, buy, buy, buy....But unfortunately, my site is brand new and not enough traffic yet to test :confused

thanks for anyone who's willing to share

  • In all my experience reverse psychology does work amazingly well.

Virtually everyone is desperately screaming "Buy! Buy! Buy!"

(You're in the pub - someone is constantly howling their opinions, views and ideas about "whatever" - you tend to make your excuses, glancing at your watch saying "Ohh look is that the time - must go..."

But if they ask "What do you think?" - you want to stay and talk for ages).

People hate to be sold to.

But (ironically) they love to buy - but only for their reasons.

So when they are pummeled with someone else's views why they should buy - they run like hell.

The secret is to "trigger" all their desires - now they really want your product/service.

    And even better news...

When you tell them only to buy for their reasons - if the product/service is exceptionally good - big numbers of people always find the money to buy it.
