Kindle stinks for copywriting books

As a noob to copywriting, I just wanted to make this note so perhaps other noobs to copywriting won't make the same mistake.

Since so many copywriting books contain images of mailings, you often cannot see them clearly enough to read on the kindle.

I bought Dan Kennedy's Ultimate Sales Letter and I can't read any of the "exhibits" in the book.

I bought the Yahoo Style Guide to read on my commute to work and it's giving me a new appreciation for paper books.

Kindle is nice, but it will never beat old fashioned paper books.

I still like to hold a book in my hand and be able to turn to page 46 and skim to half way down the page and quote something...

Kindle stuff is cool, but after I read a kindle book I find myself wishing I had the physical copy. :-/

I'm sure my kids won't feel that way, though. ;-)

  • I have a kindle, and it's fine for most books. The Boron Letters read wonderfully on it.

But yes, you do have a point. Also when books are all images and can't be converted to MOBI files, it's a royal pain in the ass.

Anyhow, it's still a useful item to have - I rely on mine!

I use my e-reader for novels. For copywriting and other informational books, I get the real thing.

Actual books are much easier to annotate. It's also much quicker to look up something in a real book. With e-readers, you have to wade through a bunch of menus and type in what you're looking for... which is a pain in the ass.

To be honest, I've never gotten into the e-reader thing. I'm only 25, so I probably should be, but I can't stand them. I need a real book in my hands. The only things I read online are Wikipedia articles or other things that can only be found online. Otherwise, give me a real book.

I love my Kobo Vox. Still have printed books but find the Vox more convenient. That and I can read color magazines, resize text, and generally have all my Kindle and kobo purchases in one place. Netflix too, if I want.
