TIP: MS Word and headlines

You can convert text to proper case by selecting it and pressing SHIFT-F3.

This converts between lower, upper and proper case. Means you can write out headlines without needing to make them proper case as you go and convert them at the end.

Wow. And I thought I knew my way around Word.

    Ripping good find, Hugh.

    Thanks for the tip Hugh.

But for all us cool kids on Macs it doesn't work (it displays all your open windows next to each other), instead we need to use Command+Option+c.

But headings in text boxes won't be seen by the TOC or for cross-references
in versions before Word 2007. Frames are relatively easy to access in
versions through Word 2003, since Insert Frame is still on the Forms toolbar
(and easy enough to add to any toolbar); Word 2007 does make it a bit harder
    to find.
