I have steady traffic but no sign ups =[ help!

So before I start to panic I decided to see if any of you brilliant warriors could help me.

I have a niche site and I am offering a free eBook for affiliate marketing. I am getting great traffic for my site only being up for a month. I am getting about 50 unique ip's and over 100 hits each day and that number is growing.

I use SEO, backlinks, and PPC (adcenter) to drive traffic. I tried contacting people for solo ads but so far I got one guy who was way too expensive, one who wasn't big enough yet (same place as me) and a few uninterested.

The point of this post is why am I not getting any sign ups?! I know I have to split test to get results, but I'm not getting sign ups on either!

Heres my site

Thanks,
Pete

I was in the same position, I tweeked my sales pages a bit and now have started to get a few subscribers here and there. It isn't major but it is a step in the right direction. I would say keep testing and changing things until you get something that works. I had similar traffic for the first month and then started to see opt-ins about a month later. Keep in mind my biggest list is 8 people, but you have to start somewhere

OP absolutely needs to keep testing and changing things to find something that works, but guessing is like wandering around in the dark. The best way to fix this type of problem is to use some kind of user testing or feedback service such as 32reviews - Test. Optimize. Profit. where real people will test out your site and tell you exactly why they're not doing what you want them to do. The good services let you target users by the demographics of your prospects i.e. gender, age, income level, etc.

How much of your traffic is coming from organic search results, and how much from PPC? My guess is that your traffic isn't very well targeted, or isn'y human at all (its not uncommon to get 30-50 hits from crawlers daily).

On top of that, check out other landing pages (in any niche) that you KNOW are successful and try to mimic those, and do some split testing.

That's what I expected, my traffic isn't very focused. Any ideas on how to make them more targeted?

It depends on the source of the traffic.

If you want to continue to go the PPC route, here is a decent course on adwords marketing that should help you out:
Google AdWords Advertising and How to Advertise on Google

The other option (which I prefer), is organic search traffic. In other words, you would need to rank well for a keyword related to your niche. With the site you posted, that's very difficult due to the lack of content.

If I were you, I would research a highly searched low competition keyword for your niche (they exist), and create a few pages of content for that keyword, placing your opt in form on the top or side of each page. That along with a SAFE back linking strategy will get you ranked given the content is decent, and drive targeted organic traffic to your site.

I've had about 20 views to my autoresponder. My traffic is coming from PPC and SEO... I am still trying to connect with people for solo ads.

How about trying to make your signup form more visible. Right now it seems a little hidden. I know the red arrow is pointing down to it, but once you click it you have to again scroll down to find it.

maybe you should try a popup form or one that is above the fold on the main page.

although you probably think you should of got a sign up by now you really cant go by
    20 visits

you need way more to get an accurate opt in rate

i usually send at least 100 unique visitors before i even look at my opt in rate and then you can get more of an idea of what it converts at

once you have had at least 100 people to the page start split testing the page. I use google website optimizer

i usually only split test 1 other variation at the same time because unless you get massive traffic it will take you a while to test each variation because as i sad you need around 100 visits to get an idea what it converts at

if your variation squeeze page performs better keep that one and then split test another variation and just keep drilling down like this untill you get an opt in rate which your happy with

i would be aiming for at least 30% opt in rate but obviously the more the better

and lastly the quality of traffic does make a difference as well, so if its really untargeted then that could be another reason why your page isnt converting very well

    hope this helps

It's your traffic is not targeted or the give -away product is useless.
+ You have to tweak your page a lot, watch examples of squeeze page gurus build for their products.

It all depends on where you're getting your traffic from. Are people being misled into coming to your site?

You can try to move the opt-in box up above the fold.

80% percent of the visitors don't scroll down the page.

It's not immediately apparent that you have a sign up form! The fact that you have to click through first to see it is not good.
The main objective of this website should be to get your visitors email address! Get them on your list.
Make your free ebook offer so appealing and valuable that the visitor wants to sign up straight away. Your free ebook should be screaming out to your visitors!

Here is some tips, based on experience about popup, you can use popup to maximum, learn by these points

    1. Delay

Make sure that the pop up doesn't appear as soon as the visitor enters the website. If it's shown right away, the visitor is much more likely to simply close the window. They might even avoid entering the site.
Program the pop-up so it appears after the user has had time to browse. They'll be more familiar with your offering, and more trusting and responsive to your request. A good rule of thumb is waiting at least 30 seconds to 1 minute.
    2. Be Clear and Concise

The message contained in your pop up needs to be extremely clear. Make sure the visitor is able to differentiate it from the typical ad. Your logo and/or organization name has to be prominent, include a brief headline explaining the purpose of your survey and make sure that a call to action is present.
Also, be up front. Give an estimate of the time required to complete the survey. This way, you'll cut down on the amount of incomplete responses you receive.
    3. Keep it Short
With pop up surveys, the respondent wasn't expecting to provide feedback. That's not why they visited the site. They were asked unexpectedly, so it's important to be very respectful of their time. Just like you wouldn't grab a random person on the street and expect them to spend 15 minutes answering questions, don't expect internet users to sit through long surveys. When designing your questionnaire, err on the short side and keep it under 5 minutes.
    4. Use Smart Pop Ups
The software to create pop ups has greatly evolved over the years, to the point where you can control almost every single aspect of the message. You can decide where on the screen the pop-up should appear, who it should be shown to, how many times it should be shown, etc.
Make use of all these features. Have your pop-up appear where your site contains the most information as this is where it would be most visible. Also, make sure that it is only shown once to each visitor. Multiple pop ups quickly become a nuisance and could dissuade the individuals from not only filling out the survey, but also returning to your site.
    5. Understand Your Visitors

Have an in depth understanding of your visitors, and they're typical browsing patterns, before constructing your survey and pop up. It's key to know how the typical individual navigates through your site. For example, it would be inappropriate to ask a person to complete a survey about your payment options when they're on your homepage, as a good percentage of them might be first time visitors coming from a search engine. Inviting people to complete this survey when they're on the checkout page, however, would be a better choice, as they would have first browsed your payment plans.

    6. Test, Test, Test

As with any survey, it's crucial to do a lot of testing. Make sure your pop up works and appears properly in all browsers, have someone proofread the pop-up and survey, and test the persuasiveness of your copy. Work out all the kinks before going live on your website.
At the end of the day, pop ups can be a very useful tool for any organization to use. All it takes is some planning!

Too many steps. Don't make people click all over the place. Get rid ot the "I feel your pain" link and the other clickable stuff and just put the text up there. You're trying to be too cute. This ain't rocket science. The page itself is clean and friendly so don't complicate it. Make your pitch for the freebie and put the signup field right there. Your sign ups will increase dramatically.

And while your at it, put a live link in the OP. It's allowed.

Just glancing over your site I can tell that it looks nice and neat but unsuitable for
capturing leads. It doesn't have striking headline, benefits for subscribing, call to action.
Why would someone want to subscribe to you and what's in it for them?

Most importantly, it doesn't have opt-in form on the home page. If people have to make
effort to search for an opt-in form it's no good. Make it prominent on the home page.

Change those things and you will see results swiftly.

Study very well your keywords. Check what keywords you ranked in the SEs. It could be un-targetted traffic.
