I like the Pew Research Center:

    Pew Research Center

They have a good mix of categories. You may be able to find some stats there.

About a year ago, I found a guy on fiverr.com to do some research for me. He did a good job.

oDesk.com would be another good place to find a sub-contractor.

Authority figures and media outlets like magazines, newsletters and news Websites. Search out the leaders of an industry or market and look for stuff they've written. Many news organizations have searchable sites where you can find articles and studies they've published. Government agencies compile all kinds of info and data that one might want to use.

Lots of great information also finds its way to sites like Youtube and other video sharing sites. When doing research for a product I like to look at big league competitors and see what they have to say. Also look for consumer advocacy groups to get the devil's advocate viewpoint.
