Just Started a Copywriting Firm - Need Some Advice In Promoting My Services

Hi all,

Over a month ago, I started a content writing firm targeting the local businesses in my area. After talking to a few business owners, I realize that there is great demand for good copywriters. I am trying to specialize in 'copy writing' especially in the marketing aspect.

The thing is, I am not a trained copywriter. My forte lies in outsourcing. In other words, what I want is to build a large pool of copy writers and my job is to market and sell the services.

So, here are some of the challenges I face:

- How do I position my firm? (Or you can share with me some ideas on how you position yours when you start?)

- Where do I get good copywriters on a long term basis? (Native English Speaking writers)

- Is there any copy writing house I can work with? (Native English Speaking writers)

- How do you market your service as a copy writer?

- How do you price your service?

Thanks in advance for your feedback

  • Hi Fated,

First of all get a range of proven copywriters on your team.

People who you like, trust and can absolutely depend on.

Before you "include" anyone, talk to them, see their work and make sure they do understand how vital it is to get results - because you need this to happen.

You'll have a team who can write across all niches, web, direct mail, ads flyers etc.

Build a website driving the targeted traffic and send stacks of sales pitches promoting the services - showing beyond doubt you have the best writers for the clients business.

Copywriters who really can boost their income and skyrocket their profits.

You'll save them the time, effort and sheer frustration in trying to find the "right" copywriter who is perfect for them.

As far as pricing goes - you should aim at the middle to top end. Reach for clients who "get" how valuable great copywriting is. Diplomatically turn down those who don't.

Always show you're bringing the quality and the best possible response for the clients.

It's a great idea and done well should produce a very good income for you and your writers.

    Hi there,

I am a Copywriter who currently works for a leading global payments company (yep, everyone's favorite) writing all of their online communications for Central America, Latin America, the Caribbean and parts of the USA. The work is project-based, so I am always on the lookout for new opportunities.

My remit covers the creation of copy for websites, banners, display campaigns, email newsletters, partner alliances etc.

If you'd like to discuss the possibilities of working together on your new venture, drop me an email on smcali23 at yahoo.co.uk and I'll get right back in touch.

    All the best,
    Sean
