"Connectors" - experienced copywriters you'll know what I mean.

(Newbies explanation... "Connectors" between problem/opportunity and the prospect's desire/s).

What are some of the best examples you know of where "connectors" have been used with deadly effect in sales letters either on or off line?

Are you able to provide any examples / links to sales letters which use these 'connectors' extremely effectively to boost the conversion rate and overall readability?

Thanks,

Mark Andrews

Assuming this type of connector is what you are looking for, other good sources of connectors include:

"Words That Sell" and "More Words That Sell" by Richard Bayan
"Phrases That Sell" by Edward Werz and Sally Germain

Clayton Makepeace also included a couple of good books as bonuses with his Copywriting System or Total Package courses, including:

    Emotional Trigger Words
The #1 Way to Electrify Your Ads

For examples of using these types of connectors, Clayton's swipes offer quite a few, or the Weiss newsletters. Gary Halbert was good at it too, and so is John Carlton.

I've found them useful because these types of words and phrases (such as cold day in hell, throw good money after bad, blaze a new trail) make the copy connect better, be more entertaining and fun to read, and convey entire images and feelings in just a few short words. In short, they can provide a jolt of electricity to dull copy, and bring it to life.
