Which one of these books should I get?

The books are:

The Greatest Direct Mail Sales Letters of all Time - Richard S. Hodgson

World's Greatest Direct Mail Sales Letters - Herschell Gordon Lewis

Million Dollar Mailings - Denison Hatch

Can someone provide feedback if they have any of these books? I've been looking at Amazon reviews and they are all the same - "get it if you want to be a copywriter" kind of thing.

What I'm mainly looking for are solid swipes, and I don't want to be spending money if they end up having the same swipes and confuse me with different reasons for the success.

Eventually I'll get the rest of the books but I want to start off without having to learn new terminology from different prespectives.

Thanks,
DG

I compared and contrast "The Greatest Direct Mail Sales letters of all Time" with Million Dollar Mailings. Both are excellent resources and cover some of the same territory, but it differs in presentation and focus, makes each of the book has its unique resource. It varies only which one you buy or which you buy first will be a matter of what you're looking for and the type of mailing or sales letters you need to create.

Did you go through the recommendations in the top sticky post of this forum?

Like you, I get skeptical about reviews if they aren't approaching a book/course/etc. from what I am interested in. And thus I take ALL reviews with a grain of salt. And you can include sales copy in that statement .

That all said, I've gotten tremendous value out of the posts of the copywriters on this board. And I don't really mind the occasional tiff when differences of opinion occur. At least to me, it indicates some things are not cast in stone.

    Thanks for the responses...

And Rezbi - that is probably the one I'm going to get - simply because after researching his name - I found out that David Ogilvy sent him a letter letting him know how the book has given him "valuable ammunition"

Anybody else has any input on the others?
