Shortest Sales Letter in History of WF - and get a load of the refund policy - love it!

I was sent to this offer by an affiliate and this has got to be shortest sales letter I've ever seen on the Warrior Forum ... read the "Refund" policy. Also added a screenshot of his sales and conversions.

So what do you think?

  • Interesting page Suz. I guess if you are producing products in "4 hours or less - including the sales letter", something has to give

    • There are other reasons, besides the shortness of the
sales letter, as to why it's converting so well...

For example, consider the product creator who has a
decent reputation for releasing high quality products.

Plus, most of the testimonials are positive and come
from fellow Warriors who restate the value of the
      material within the product.

I assume that affiliates are endorsing it strongly too.

      Dedicated to mutual success,

      Shaun

  • Awesome! But I need to work really hard to get at that level. Shaun is right, a lot if not all has to do with the reputation of the seller.

  • Guarantees have become almost an afterthought these days.

They're slapped on sales pages with the same old boring language that has almost no effect.

So when this seller is basically saying he values this product enough to not give a refund to those who ask, it's counter-intuitive, but I can see how it works because of its contrast to the canned Guarantees on the rest of the sales pages you see out there.

I've always run my WSOs with no guarantee in place. That gives me the luxury of deciding on a refund case by case. If someone downloads my products and requests a refund within an hour or so, they don't get one. I don't have much of a problem with refunds.

  • I'm a huge fan of really short salesletters, and I love the refund policy!

Something this short and with no refund guarantee would never work...Clicks buy button .

Reminds me of that 4 hour product creation thread you went head to head with AdwordsMogul in Suzanne . Wonder if it's the same OP...

lol ... now don't get started. Not the same OP and not making any comments on the product or the seller. He has a good reputation, I'm told and people like his products, so that's a factor in the success of this product, as well as some big affiliates promoting it.

I was just really surprised when I was reading and all of a sudden it was done. lol, and I love the refund policy.
  • Targeted list is at work here me thinks.

Plus with a guarantee like that who could say no?

I mean by the time you have written out an email asking for a refund you could nearly have your first product out there!

  • With all the hype and pitches that we see so much, maybe this is perfect for the IM niche. And the whole refund thing is overplayed too.

But in the end, I agree.... having a good reputation and setting up all the pre release items in place is what probably makes a WSO get numbers like that.

2 months ago I "finished" a product for launch (mental stall on the upsell has caused a huge delay). I was going full force "trying" to set up pre launch lists, promotions, reviewers, JV's, etc... It can be a bit overwhelming - so good for him. I just hope it is a good product because the industry is getting a bad reputation from all the junk.

PS. still fumbling around trying to make my WSO perfect before launch.

It's not "my style" at all, but I think it's very good (apart from the glaring grammatical error, which will doubtless not affect the sales one iota).

I like the refund policy very much.

As always, with these things, in that context (i.e. a WSO), so much depends on whose it is, I think? And I have no idea whose this is. But I like it.

... or maybe the refund policy forum
  • Personally - I think the headline really taps into what many people think about products these days...it taps into the CURRENT mindset that people have about products which creates a visceral emotion - which is something known to be a difficult thing to do. So unless the person hired a 10K quality copywriter, I might go on a limb and say it was a lucky one.

And also the sales letter is small and fits on your screen - which will automatically grab the attention of people who are expecting the same B.S.

The refund policy is something else that took good effect - people like gambling and this is a gamble. And apart from it being different - since the testimonials PROOF that he knows what he is talking about, the no refund policy makes it seem like his product is quality. It also proves that he doesn't need your money which is the opposite of the same ole - "Please buy NOW" which reinforces that his solution is legit and makes people think -"He seems to have this product thing down if he doesn't need my money - this might just be what I've been looking for."

    Anyways - that's my .02

P.S. - the headline really provides a ton of info on where the market is at. So you can easily design a sales letter around this headline and hit a grand slam.

edit: Don't forget the relationship with the list...

lol ... this is what happens when a thread about the virtues of long sales letter vs short sales letter ends up in the Copywriting forum. It turns into a debate over apostrophes.
  • Since the average person reads at an 8th grade level, all my testing has shown that grammar errors and typos have no impact on conversion.

I guess it would only matter if your target market is full of English teachers, etc.

  • 7% for a WSO is NOT good.

That forum is incredibly warm... you can sell pretty much anything.

  • I've seen shorter "copies" than this. Not sure how well the others did though.

This guy's reputation and his affiliate strategy probably has a lot to do with the conversion rate.

The refund policy is using reverse psychology but only someone with a reputation and good track record can pull off a stunt like that successfully in true Rich Jerk style.

I wonder if it would convert as well against a piece of standard length WSO copy.
  • What it proves is that "COPY" is just one piece of the marketing / selling puzzle.

An important one, of course. [Added to avoid the inevitable heckling from my fellow copywriters ]

    • Good to see you back on the forum Paul - thought you'd gone AWOL - looking forward to reading your posts again!
    • I thought it was a great sales letter. Short, to the point, direct, emotionally driven (uhh is that driven or drivin)

Thanks for sharing this with us...ml
  • As crazy as that is, it was nice to be able to read a sales page in under a minute, or not have to watch a 30 min video just to get to the point. The refund is funny, I bet people click on it for that, as well as any other reason.
