Loads of Traffic but is this right?

Hey there,

I am curious to get some other opinions about this. I recently opened my blog to become a multi-author blog. I did this because I believe that others can help me get the information my visitors want. Basically I wanted more content and more benefit to my readers.

This is beneficial to my guest authors and readers but do you think this is a good move on my part? It is too late now because when I promise something I stick to it. So I will keep it as is the rest of the life of the blog.

I plan to allow two to four articles per day go live through out each day and each author is allowed a link in their guest post bio section only.

I have had tons of submissions already and most of them are just pending at the moment...I wanted to see what others thought and how I can better go about this before I started posting them all.

I look forward to the replies I receive. Any help is appreciated.

  • More content can only be a good thing.

A few words of warning (and some tips) though....

Ensure the content you're getting isn't plagiarized. Make sure it's original. Be VERY picky in what you choose - these guys should feel LUCKY to let you post their content on your blog.

2-4 a day!? Sounds like you might be headed for doom - that's oversaturation. Don't overwhelm your audience with posts - drip-feed it to them. It'll work out so much better for you.

Thanks for the helpful information. I was thinking the same thing actually and you just confirmed it. I will probably stick to one or two posts daily. One post to start.

      Thanks,
      Jonathan Smith

P.S. If you want to post you are welcome to and yes I am very picky what gets posted on the blog.

Jonathan, how have you advertised your guest post spots? (is it just here on the forum with your sig or do you have a game plan?). Thanks for any ideas.

Yeah I agree with the others, make sure the content isn't stolen and make sure it's relevant to your website. If not it could be you getting in trouble in the future.

The main thing you need to be careful with is ensuring your website's brand/focus isn't diluted. This happened with the site I work for and we ended up having to let go of the new writers. All important metrics (time on site, pageviews, etc) shot back up a week or two after we went back.

another tip for continuity -- is to to try to automate your post submission. you can google on some great tools for it.. this will free you up from babysitting your blog that often

I would stick to just one per day.... and like the others say, be very picky. I would also add a few internal links on the articles to other pages on your blog. Hey, I may even submit a post of my own......! Good luck with it.

Thanks everyone. I have had some great success with this way of doing things. Free content plus others get exposure which is part of my goal.

@BANX63 - I would be glad to accept your guest post but needs to be original, and valuable to my readers. Thanks
