Best way to present Free trial for highest conversion...

I'm sure somebody has tested this...

Say I have a product with 3 price levels depending on features chosen.

The product comes with a free trial.

Is it generally better to present the price of the product first, then tell them they get it free for X amount of time?

Or...

Better to build up the value, then tell them they get it for free for x amount of time, then if they decide they want it the price will be X?

    Make the prospect feel they simply won't be fulfilled without the full product. Human truth: no one wants the shadow of a great product - everyone wants the best.

    Make them WANT it, and buy it.

    As for your question: The second option. Tell them they have full access to the product for X amount of time, no charges. If they love it, they buy it (trust me, if your product is that damn good, they won't want to let go of it); if they don't...well, they miss out!
