I think we may have lost the OP or they might be back. Anyhoo, for anyone else with a similar question as the OP I suggest spending some time looking through the links above and the archives in general. Threads come and go but over the years they accumulate. There are a lot golden nuggets in the archive that can help you.

Heck, when I started I even went through as many threads as archive.org would let me on a copywriting forum that is no longer in existence (Michel Fortin's board). Of course that's insane. But it's amazing what you can learn.

Back to the OP, it's not that hard to get clients. There is business everywhere. My suggestion is to work on your mindset and positioning. Brian McLeod explains it better than I can in the second post in this thread:

In that same thread is great stuff from gjabiz, Alex Cohen, Mark Andrews and others. For example, gjabiz shows you how to get proven ads from other markets and use them in your city. Woohoo, that's gold right thar, Tycoon.

Go find a bad sales page on clickbank and offer them a rewrite for 1k + 5% of total earnings.

You get the biggest results by just contacting people cold. By email, phone, whatever. Of course you need to be intelligent about who you contact but if you're on the right side of the bell curve and have some common sense, you'll eventually figure it out.

Don't rely on people who post copy jobs on freelance sites and stuff like that. They're mostly low-ballers. A lot of them are copywriters who are farming their work out to someone else; others are business newbies who don't have any money.
