Email marketing to a cold list

I've got a list of people with outdated websites or not functional sites.

I'm not sure how well it's going to work but there's no harm sending these guys an email to see if they require any work to be done.

Attached.

My opinion is that these people are probably getting emailed left and right by people offering to setup with all sorts of features and benefits, "OH BOY DO WE HAVE A DEAL FOR YOU! ONLY AT $XXXX AND WE"LL DO List1/2/3/4/5". So this email usually breaks all the hype, and just look sincere with offering a lending hand.

Well people love to buy, and not to be sold. I'm not sure how well this goes about in this small campaign. Is something subtle like the one attached going to be any sort of effective, or is the usual "CALL US NOW AT 123" with all the CTA, pain, benefits etc going to be better IYO?

You're digging a trench in hopes of channeling water sometime down the road.

Why not find a clear running stream and dip your bucket in?

In other words, don't try to create demand - find and fill it.

How would going about finding this stream and what kind of bucket would you use? I am looking for new ways to generate leads. Cold calling and knocking on doors is how i usually do it, but i want to find one of these nice streams you are talking about.

Have you considered positioning instead of prospecting?

If not, here's a good, introductory article by Perry Marshall you can read...

Exactly. Its always good to start a business that provides a solution for someone else's needs. For example, Mcdonalds makes burgers. Maybe you should supply the bread?
