My New "Outside The Box" Squeeze Page.

Edit:

To those of you that gave me good feedback, thanks. I won't be needing anymore feedback as I've realized the only way to really succeed is to test everything yourself.

Here's the page: datingwarriors.com/mindhack

My optin rates are higher than ever after I started applying this one trick I'm experimenting with. I'm no copywriting expert but it doesn't take a brain surgeon to know that people are starting to associate regular optin forms with internet marketers, affiliate marketers, email promotions, more emails in their inbox, crappy free bribe products etc. Even if your email campaign is great and high value, even if your free giveaway product is awesome, other crappy marketers are ruining your optin rates by giving away garbage products and spamming their lits, and people are naturally becoming more and more skeptical of squeeze pages.

That's why I've replaced my optin form with text that says

Download Below For Free

and then a book cover with a link to the download page.

Wayyy more people will click on a download link than submit their emails and optin.

Time for the interesting part.

Now that they've clicked on the download link, they were expecting the download to start, but it didn't. They're now on a page that's asking for their email.

Now, they could either back out and get mad that the download didn't automatically start, or, more likely they'll just enter their emails to get the download. Because they've already shown their interest in the book by clicking on the download link, and taken the first step, they'll probably just enter their emails and start the download.

I know theres a name for this persuasion trick but I forgot the name, I think it's principle of continuity or something, oh well.

When doing this, it's important to make sure that the optin button says "Download" or "Download Now" or something.

You guys can test this out and see how it goes. It's going pretty well for me so far.

You are getting fixated on "YOUR" presentation...

not a thought about what you'd say to a guy you met outside in the real world.

You'd get laughed at saying they can pick up women,
get all the money and best career they want.

    C'mon man, keep it real!

    Best,
    Ewen

The idea is somewhat good but your squeeze page will result in high bounce rate, therefore less sales. You have to make your download/purchase button, banner visible within your landing page.

There are many people out there who are not good at exploring sites.

Hmm but the download IS visible on the landing page. It says "download below free" and then they click the book cover to download since it's the only visible way to download the book.

I think what's he's suggesting stevealtaman is that the invitation and the link to download need to be above the fold, preferably on the upper right hand corner.

Also, you've got too many headlines my man. I'd suggest take that headline about the subconsciousness mind and using that at the top, take out those celebrity names (been writing for years from this niche and star power hasn't worked all that well) and make THEM the star of the story.

Finally, take those ugly plants off the cover and put a picture of a gorgeous woman there instead. I know "sex" is supposed to be hidden in that pic, but come on man, these are men. You want them thinking about sex, but a half naked woman in front of them, not flowers.

lol trust me man, I've tried everything. The big "gurus" of the niche like david deangelo (Eben Pagan) and so on are all doing the things you guys are recommending, and so people in this niche are becoming immune to these tactics. You always have to do your best to stand out from your competitors.

As for the flowers thing.. it's a NLP tactic where you surprise the reader with something that mind f**ks them, and so their brains are busy trying to comprehend what just happened, and then you slip in a suggestion (my suggestion was "download for free now")

Obviously I'm not pulling all of this out of my ass, I've done the research.

I'm trying some different approaches and they seem to be working. My optin rates are higher than ever, and that's probably because I'm taking a different approach.

Like Steve Jobs says, "Think different"

Thank you for all of your inputs regardless. But I'd rather be a crazy nut job and do things completely different from what I'm supposed to do, than do things the "normal" way and get mediocre results.

You should probably avoid asking for feedback if you're just going to argue with everything people say.

I'm not arguing. I've listened to all of your advice (the ones who actually gave advice instead of just telling me my page sucks) and even set up multiple split tests. I just wanted to let you know my side of things because there's a reason behind every element of this squeeze page. Plus I was a bit angry because I blew a ton of money on a copywriter who couldn't produce the results I wanted and I'm not all that fond of them at the moment lol but I'll get over it.

                Thanks, everyone.

Think different, sure, but also do what works. :-)

Also your squeeze page is fine for me, I don't deny it it's already good to have this, but the spelling should be good, I'm not a native english speaker, make many mistakes myself but I can spot several in your copy so that's usually not a good sign. The men interested in your page are all different and some will be like me always spotting spelling mistakes and make a judgement on the level of quality of the person who did the job or the person who controlled the job. And since we have only that squeeze page to evaluate the quality of the "product" (even free) then sometimes we will prefer the gurus with the shiny pages that work.

For instance "Benefitted Masively" that's 2 mistakes in 2 words.

Ah but Bill Gates thought differently too, he just wanted to make it look like everything he did was easy.

And woah, thanks man, didn't notice that. I'll get right onto fixing that.

sorry, but the copy sucks.... its vague, generic and not hitting what the market really wants, plus who uses that kinda page?

have you surveyed your list to find out exactly what they're looking for and what pain points?

keep in mind, you dont make money in this business by blazing a trail no ones ever done before, thats the most difficult path someone can take... and a fast track to an empty bank account and a frustrated person, you make money by doing what works.

lol... @ 1 out of 2 are opting in.... dude, you need thousands of clicks before you'll know if it works or not

    1, 10, 100 clicks mean nothing.

ultimately, you need to throw a bunch of *targeted* traffic to the page, make sure you're testing a few different types of pages.... and see which one wins.

    pretty simple.

I haven't surveyed my list but I'm a "pick up artist" myself and I live and breathe this niche. I know it inside out and I've read countless books on it.

And lol I got 12 more subscribers since posting this. And that's from infolinks.com, which isn't all that great of a traffic source.

It's only 10 cents per click from PPC, and my budget is $5.00 per day. (For all of you doing PPC, that's super low)

Honestly, I know I should be listening to all of you and following "traditional" advice, but I'm going to be consistent with my niche and be an "alpha male" and do things my own way according to my intuition

I don't consider Einstein, Ford or Edison as chick magnets...plus listing that many names in the headline slows down the reader...check your spelling.

The layout has too much whitespace. Tighten it up so the CTA is up higher.

Make a big deal out of no email required...just click to get the secret.

That's true, but the headline isn't saying they're chick magnets, it's saying the "secret trick" helped them get what they wanted.

Sort of like how a genie could grant all of your wishes, the genie can either make you ultra successful financially or it can make you ultra successful with women.

I'll keep testing what you guys are recommending, granted you're trying to actually help me instead of push your own beliefs down my throat and limit my creativity lol

Also, if a headline captures the readers attention, white space doesn't matter too much. If you can REALLY pull someone in with your headline, you don't need to be so insecure about the fact that your CTA isn't above the fold.

And I'll test whether the names increase conversions of not, but to my recollection famous names display heightened amounts of social proof, which always boosts interest.

I hope I don't seem arrogant, I'm just trying to do my best to think outside the box and succeed. I appreciate all of the feedback.

LOL I didn't expect this but a few people from THIS forum are actually opting in to my squeeze page according to my tracking software. Sorry to you guys who have opted in, I haven't uploaded the report yet, I hired an article writer to edit it. I'm guessing if copywriters themselves are opting in, my copy isn't all that terrible.

lol yeah I am a noob on this forum, I don't know how to delete this post so I had to keep it up I asked for the advice but then I realized that I wouldn't get any constructive criticism, only people telling me my page "sucks" and hoping that I would hire them or some other copywriter.

Just because I have less posts than you doesn't mean I haven't done the research and hours and hours of studying and learning and testing.

As for being a pick up artist, if you're gonna build a list, shoudn't you be passionate or atleast involved in the niche? Maybe the reason I think I know more than you is because I know exactly how my targetted audience thinks, because I AM my targetted audience and I know what my niche is used to hearing, so I'm trying to deliver something different.

Sometimes connecting with your target market isn't all about copywriting, it's about thinking like them and knowing how to introduce them to something they aren't used to seeing. I guess my mistake was posting on this section.

Maybe I'm just mad because I hired a copywriter for a lot of money and while everything he wrote seemed great on the surface, it wasn't producing any results.

And by the way, I'm not refusing to take advice. I'm refusing to take bad or vague advice simply because I don't blindly follow instructions

ewenmack told me to change "get all the girls, money and career success you want" to just "get all the girls you want" and I instantly made the change.

Give me some good advice and I'll follow it.
