Hi Friends.

I love email marketing and I'm an Infusionsoft user. I use it for several things and I love it. One dilemma I have is in planning email sequences. Planning today for what I want to say to a person in a sequence over a period of time be it days, weeks or months.

Let me be specific-

I founded organize an annual community service project that has grown into over 250 cities nationally. Simply it revolves around collection new socks for elderly in nursing homes around the holidays. It runs from Oct 27-Christmas. I have an opt-in form to collect name and email address and a thank you page and an email response that give them more information about the program and directs them to register for the program as a collector/collection site and asks for their complete contact information.

Currently the sequence for those who fill out the opt in box and don't register consists of a few emails: Thanks for stopping by/please register, a day later: I see you didn't register, 2 days later, can I answer any questions/please register and that's it.

The sequence for those who do register consists of a few emails - Thanks and info (program details etc), a 'personal' thanks and welcome to the program, and an email inviting them to link to us on facebook and twitter. They'll also a week or two down the road get a 'how's it going email' - and in December a program is coming to a close email, an email about distributing socks and an email for them to follow up and report how many they collected.

It's about a 10 week window.

Question is this - I'd like some input for the WF community as to how you think I can better communicate with the list and nurture the relationship with the volunteers. To me - what I have outlined are the necessary nuts and bolts emails but seem mechanical. Also do you have any thoughts on building out the 'hey you didn't register' sequence?

I seem to have this similar concern for each of the different areas I do email marketing for - but any insight I can get for this one specifically perhaps I can apply to the others.

All of the sequences work - I'd just like to make them work as best they can. I'll also be automating warm fuzzys on the FB and twitter pages (any recommendation for best tool to do that, currently using Tweet Deck, but inputting the info can be kinda cumbersome. Wonder if there might be a good (free?) script to do the same things.

THANKS A BUNCH in advance for any input!

For those who register, are they provided with any "how to be successful" information? If not, you could use your autoresponder to give them helpful tips.

If so, you could offer regular encouragement in the form of case studies. John P. did such and such. Sally V. did whatever.

For those who don't register then you can send them the
    following sequence.

    1. Thank for visiting the site etc., register here ...

    2. I notice you haven't registered as yet. Here are the advantages
    of registering.

    3. Here is the personal story of someone who registered. Please register.

    4. I know that you are busy and this may have slipped you mind.
    (Answer objections to registering.)

    5. The time is slipping away, don't let this opportunity pass you by.
Answer some frequently asked questions about the program.

    6. Here is an extra incentive for registering.

    7. XXX amount of people have already registered and already
participating in the program. You could join them and enjoy
these benefits .... Don't miss out.

    Hope this helps,

Wanted to let you both know that your input didn't just get me to thinking - I took action and implemented both of them. I also came up with a partner reactivation sequence for folks who participated last year but have yet to sign on this year!

    Thanks a bunch!
