"Must Know" Copywriting Tips To Get You Started - For Beginners

Hello warriors!

I've been wanting to get my hands deep in with copy writing for quite some time, but for various reasons it hasn't happened until recently. None the less, I've started doing research and practicing what I have learned so far. While I've been searching, I've come across some articles that I think would benefit others who are interested in learning the art of (given enough time and practice) writing a hypnotic and compelling sales copy.

Here are the links, hope they'll help (I have no affiliation with these sites, I just found them useful):

Nothing and nobody beats Gary Halbert.

Why? Because reading his incredibly informative letters you'll get his pearls of wisdom in a funny and entertaining way - and that's why you'll keep them forever.
The aforesaid is in contradistinction to the mass-produced courses and books.
David Kennedy & John Carlton come next.

Halberts letters are next in line on the "Must Read" list, just started on Magic Words, will move on to Halbert after that and then Think And Grow Rich stands in line, but some of the articles I found were pretty helpful in clarifying and answering some questions I had and explain the basics in a easily understandable way and get me motivated to start practicing while reading the more serious stuff. I know I have a long way to go, but hey, gotta start somewhere

Start by using the right terms. It's NOT "a copy" - it's "copy". It's not "copy writer" - it's "copywriter".

(Must be a friggin virus getting around...all these guys talking about "a copy".)

Dipstick Potential Client: "I'd like to order a copy".

The Copy Nazi: "There's a photo-copying place down the street".

    I really get a lot out of Gary Bencivenga's bullets - http://bencivengabullets.com/

Like the Halbert letters, these are must for all copywriters to read over and over again:

Thanks for these. I've just started reading the Adweek Copywriting Handbook by Joseph Sugarman, and these links will be good supplementation when I'm done! Thank you!
