Any copywriter pros that need help with design?

*** I AM NOT LOOKING TO SELL MY SERVICES HERE ****

Now that we have cleared that up... hopefully my thread is in the right place. If not PLEASE let me know.

If anyone knows of an EXPERIENCED copywriter that could use help with getting their great copy online, I would like to offer my help in exchange for some copywriting tips/critiques of my work on copywriting. I am in no way trying to make money off of my service, I just would like some professional advice on copywriting as it becomes necessary and I am willing to return the favor by helping someone with design work.

I have an extensive library of resources, graphics, sales pages, squeeze pages, OTO pages, landing pages etc. that I am willing to contribute in a mutually beneficial, collaborative arrangement.

I would offer a 2/1 ROI for time invested.

Thanks for any recommendations you may have..

The problem you face here is - and I've seen this plenty of times - you need to know how to design to sell.

There's a difference between, "Ooh, pretty," and "buy my sh*t."

Not taking the mick. Just saying.

So the question is, do you know the difference?

That's a good point Rezbi.. my approach to design for sales pages is to have congruency with the copy. Every button, bullet, box etc. is on the page to support the copy.

I have used a variety of design styles and graphic composition on ads. I have tracked clicks and conversions and from that I continue to make adjustements and test, test, test.

Though I have spent four years working at it, I am still learning and improving but yes, I am aware of the difference between design to get my &^it sold and design for the sake of design.

    Thanks for asking...

Yeah, for me it's usually two sides when talking about design. First, with the long-form sales letter you make everything as simple as possible, just to avoid distracting the reader's eye away from the copy for as long as possible.

But, second, when you need to design a sales page for a service or something similar, then it's usually much harder, and often - a pain in the *ss. Because 90% of the designers want to showcase how they know every little "cool" looking trick and tweak, the sales page mostly ends up screwed.

I agree Ray... whether the project is long form or short form, the balance between graphics, copy and white space must be achived in a way that the finished product illicits the right emotion and action from the viewer. ALL elements must work towards the intended goal, whatever that is for the particular piece.

I was just remembering something I read in a book recently ( Ogilvy, Caples, Hopkins.. not sure who the author was):

"The problem with writers is, they think the ad should be read but not looked at
The problem with designers is, they think the ad should be looked at but not read"
