I doubt you've tried too hard.

I think you're coming to the realization that there's a reason a whole profession is dedicated to just this type thing...you're not the first to realize it, and won't be the last.

There are those who have made a career out of selling with print. The reason they've made a career out of it is because they're good (in simple terms).

A lot of products over the years could have meant huge profits for their creator, but have either been mediocre in terms of their success, or died out completely because of the lack of a good copywriter.

I could buy a canvass, paint and brushes...drive up to the mountains and find the most scenic site and sit for hours painting it. Doubt anyone would buy it because it would look like crap...I'm just not good at painting.

It would seem odd for me to sit around and complain that nobody wanted to buy my painting.

I could probably take some lessons to bring out "my inner artist"...although I doubt there's one there...I could maybe get a little better...but I'll never paint as good as those that earn a living painting.

I could buy a paint by the numbers, which is basically what you're doing in the copywriting world when you swipe someone's work. Most can tell you've used the paint by the number kit...and most can tell when you've swiped a sales letter.

"But the artist/copywriter make it look so easy". Yes, they have talent.

In business, it isn't a "fine line" between those who struggle and those who succeed...it's a bold line. Quite simply, some know when to outsource the things they're not good at, and the savvy business owner knows they're not good at everything. There are times when you need to call in the professionals.

There's a list at the top in the stickys of copywriters. You may want to browse through the list.

There are also several good copywriters that visit this forum quite often. You may want to contact some of them.

Ok, I'm done with my rant.

    I wish you success.

Thank you very much for your advice. You are absolutely correct. I want to hire but I really feel in my bones that I can write but I am lacking the confident in the grammar department or using the right words and putting final touches the right place. I heard that if you practice in long hand writing out best sales copies you admire it will come to you. It's a grueling task and only the love of the art will enable me to sit still and do it until it has become a second nature to me.

If you're having trouble with grammar and putting words together, you've got a long way to go. Copywriting is more about selling than it is about writing, but if you're struggling with the writing you've got a long hike through the woods before you even arrive at the base of the mountain to start climbing.

That said, if you're 100% determined to do this no matter what and you're in love with writing and want to work at it with morbid determination, here are some resources that can help:

        1) On Writing by: Stephen King (for storytelling and holding reader's attention)
        2) Anything by Dan Kennedy (for selling & negotiating deals with clients)
        3) A Writer's Coach by: Jack Hart (for grammar, structure and sentence flow)
        4) Free Copywriting Course: Now You Can Be Writing Great Copy in Just a Few Days.... | V.I.B.E. (free copywriting course I created for beginners)
        5) Find sales letters that have already worked, rewrite them word for word as a daily practice. Here's a collection of 200 that I still work with: http://tvisuals.net/100GreatestSalesLetters_PDF.pdf

Good luck, lot of hard work ahead but at least you're asking for help.

I really Frank Kerr and Eben Pagan. Eben Pagan talks about focusing on benefits and not features. You have to deliver people results what exactly their looking for. Another technique you might consider is to focus on fears and aspirations and drive people away from failure. You can talk about the failure that can happen to them, tell them if you buy this product that will not happen to them.

Clayton Makepeace... read "The Total Package." All of it. Then read it again. He's brilliant and provides so much gold for free.

If you want specific examples of ads to study, Hard To Find Ads is useful, as is this thread that links plenty of resources: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...wipe-file.html

One other (VERY important) thing. Pick a niche and study people who have written specifically for that niche. Every niche is a subculture unto itself and things that work in some niches totally bomb in others. Be a specialist, it'll cut light years off your learning curve.
