How The Grinch Stole Madison Avenue

I love seeing the original Grinch on TV every year. The full length movie just isn't the same.

Before his Dr. Seuss books became famous, Theodor Seuss Geisel was a part-time ad man. He created illustrations for Flit insecticide, General Electric and others. Notice the long copy for Ajax Cups.

These Ads Drawn By Dr Seuss Before He Was Famous Are Utterly Charming - Business Insider

There was a rumor he wrote some Clickbank sales letters but so far there is no evidence.

I actually didn't know this until now! (Seriously, I've read several facts about Dr. Seuss but I've never seen any mention that he worked in advertising.) Thanks for sharing!

I believe the best part of all this is that it just goes to show how writers can use their talent for a variety of business purposes (whether it involves your own creative work or using them for copywriting).
