Finding Work-At-Home Assignments

Anyone have an idea where I can look to find work-at-home copywriting or writing assignments that doesn't pay poorly?

Thanks for your input.

  • -call businesses in NYC, ask for the owner or marketing director, introduce yourself, tell them how you can help them, stay in touch.

    - look for poor advertising, contact the owner, show them how you can do better.

    - look for websites in your niche that don't have autoresponders/email campaigns. Set it up for them.

    - become the "reactivation guy." Your lead-in is that you will contact their "lost" customer base with a killer offer to get them to come back, either through email or postal mail.

    - your handle says you are a ghostwriter. Go to prominent local businesses that have a good backstory. Offer to write their company history for 10k or 20k or whatever. They can sell it or distribute it free to customers and/or clients.

You can do that all on the phone/ email/ mail.

There are some good links here under How To Get Clients:

  • Joe made a brilliant comment - become the "reactivation guy"

Clients are often notorious for "losing" their existing clients.

Stats suggest it costs 8 - 20 times more money to get a new client than it does to keep or get back an existing one (these are UK stats - they may be different in the US of A but I bet not by much).

I do postcards with an irresistible offer to get those clients back.

Before you think "No, that's way too low tech and won't pay much"

Your client who you got the clients back for is absolutely delighted.

And you can come to many excellent renumeration arrangements.

Possibly the best one is an initial fee and a share of the fees the reactivated client subsequent pays.

Because you'll be ensuring they stay. With ongoing offers and deals.

P.S. You can also earn fees from referrals the reactivated clients bring in. Give them postcards to pass onto all the "qualified" people they know. With a fabulous offer. To virtually guarantee it's a success make sure they get an "inventive" for doing it.

P.P.S. You can easily do all this from home. I've done it in 7 different countries, I've never met the clients. Just spoken by phone (skype is too high tech for me) and by email.

Mind you - you do get invited to some very exotic locations.
