Review of Finance related landing page on very popular news site

I have just launched a premium service for my website that provides a weekly report in the energy markets.
The landing page is here: https://oilprice.com/premium

Now i'm not the world's best copywriter - and was hoping to get some feedback from the experts here.
I think visually it's okay - but does it make you want to sign up?

It's early days - but the conversion rate is just under 1% which is a little disappointing.

The service really is something else - as we have partnered with one of the most famous energy traders in the world and 2 intelligence companies - one corporate and the other military. I just don't think i've really done the service justice.

If it helps you can see our first sample letter here as an example: https://oilprice.com/premium#

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Initially, I think it remains too bland and vague in what it's actually offering. What cold, hard profit value does your service offer? My eyes are quickly drawn to the $495 and $59 price points...and nothing in the text prior to that tells me that those costs are worth the risk right now.

If I saw a title, though, that said, "You Could Earn $100,000 In A Single Week With The First Insider Advantage Report We Deliver To You..." now that'd make me perk up and consider a free trial to see if you can prove the claim.

It's too "soft" overall. "Most in-depth..." compared to what? That means nothing to the reader. "Strategic advice" and "new opportunities" also don't convey strong substance in my opinion. You should find a way to bring in as many hard-hitting specifics and data as possible to really set this apart from any other generic financial advice offer. Why should someone even bother investing in this...vs. just picking up an industry magazine or doing online research to find out the same info and saving themselves the cost you require?

Also, your pop-up on leaving the page is too generic as well. Instead of claiming "massive impact" for them, define what that really means in high value numbers or percentages.

Thanks for the feedback. Now that you say them i see what you mean. What do you think of the layout? Should i alter that as well?

You mention that peopel can just d othe research themselves and get this inf - but they can't. This is high level intelligence used by the DID, govt agenciesn and large corporations. Also the trading advice is as good as it gets.
The problem is i can't make the claims of making BIG $$ - as the newsletter is more about keeping ahead of the market and making the right strategic decisions. We will be mentioning companies that investors will be looking at and i'm certain some will be big winners - but that's not really the aim of the service. Stock pickers are all over the place and we really want to separate ourselves from them.

Yes you should alter the layout. There is too much going on.

Tell your story and to do that you need a headline and then a good lead.

And if you want them to believe any of that, you need to introduce proof above the fold with at least the beginning of a sidebar testimonials.

OutOfThisWorld - thanks for the feedback. Do you know any good companies that actually do this type of design, etc... As this is a different world to me.

You should talk up those experts much more. Credibility and compelling track record is huge in financials.

Vin Montello and I are currently writing a project headed by a TV financial expert and we are still loading the piece with his accomplishments. Your guys are not well known, so you really have to build up why the reader should listen to them.

Your readers get hit with new pitches almost daily. You need to aggressively sell the crap out of this service and the people involved.

Thanks Ross - one of our traders is VERY well known in the fianncial world - Dan Dicker is on CNBC, Bloomberg and many other channels all of the time - is a market expert, well known author and respected trader. I can get a lot of genuine testimonials from fairly well known people in the world of finance. Do testimonials really make a difference if they are big names?

      Yes.

Testimonials would add to the sale.

More than that though, you should romance the expert bios way more.

What correct predictions have they made before that could have made the reader money?

What big new stories have they broke before anyone else that could have made the reader money?

What relationships have they nutured in far off lands that could make the reader money?

      That kind of thing.

      --- Ross

And to keep on the same excellent track as Ross,
name a company that made extraordinary profits in the past and why the market conditions are even better now than when the recommendation was released to a few rich insiders.

Use a free bonus report, which would be enough
in itself to subscribe, outlining all the ripe market conditions for this one company.

If you can have 3 of these bonus reports picking a company.

Get those out in front as the star parade.

The subscription becomes only the means to get these big news stories on the picks.

And have it tie in with "You missed these BIG profits last time
but don't worry because the merging of these powerful supply and demand trends are 6 times greater this time around, therefore your odds of profiting wildly have shot through the roof. But don't dilly dally because the window of opportunity is rapidly closing because
we are putting a cap on the number of subscribers, like we did last time."

Have the news station symbols up top of the page.

Have the driver to this page the story of this stock has the fuse lit to shoot into space at lightening speed.

        Best,
        Ewen

Thanks Ewen - I can have reports put together fairly easily - but how would they then fit on the landing page. Do you have any examples of landing pages where this has worked well.
Also on the stock picking site - that's really not what we are about - sure we will mention companies and trades - but we are not a stock picking letter promising people millions. We are providing information that helps people do their due diligence with information ahead of what people will find in newspapers, tipping letters and analyst reports.
Basically we are an intelligence service - providing people with information and opportunities ahead of other services and the news.

Ewen - to be honest it' a bit of both - but also people within the energy sector who are looking to get good sector related intelligence.

Alex - the majority of people are from our mailing list and people who have read our articles. we don't have ads on any other sites - it's just our readers for now. This wil change in the future when we start our affiliate program - but i have to get the landing pages as good as they can be before i get other sites selling the service.

You mention you have a mailing list.

      Are there buyers on it?

If so, surveying your buyers would be a good move.

Great to see you on this forum. I love your site.

About half my customer base is o&g.

They respond to straightforward person-to-person appeals and narrative.

A traditional sales letter with some story elements works well with them.

A sales letter doesn't have to adhere to the giant red hypeline protocol, but it does need to follow a proven persuasive structure.

What you are selling is pre-news. The ultimate intelligence advantage. "By the time your competitors hear about it, you will have already acted on it." For this crowd, the fear of losing something to the other guy is a huge motivator.

Not subscribing must = losing. Losing money. Losing the advantage. Losing out to the guy who did subscribe.

You'll do great with this once you create some lust and fear of loss.

This would include self pride they are smarter than others by getting first bite at the cherry, even before subscribers to tipster subscriptions I would think too.

Still dealing with human drivers, fear, greed and pride.

Fantastic guys - absolutely what i was looking for - thank you for your help. Warrior Forum is THE place to go.
I'll be putting 5 different designs together with different text in the next 6 weeks to test. We actually had a really good night and the conversion rate has gone up to 2% - but looking at all of your advice i think we can really boost that going forwards.
