Does anyone know any good translators?

I'm looking to get a big website translated into 9 more languages:

spanish
chinese (simplified)
portuguese
german
french
russian
hindi
korean
japanese

I'm looking for someone good and cheap. And does it manually. Does anyone here have any good references for companies or individuals? I'd appreciate it.
Thank you.

I can't help you there - what I can suggest is that you put it online and get clever.

What do you want these people to do? You want them to be careful and specific. So write something long and detailed without bullet points. In the middle you ask them to do three things - in three different paragraphs.

Anybody answering all three questions by email (or even snail mail!) gets a go.

That way you get people who are detail orientated - ie they won't skip the details of your translations!

    Hope this helps.

I have translated before into Spanish (my first language) for people here in the forum. What niche is your website?

A word of advice for you, at the risk of offending some people. Don't use a Mexican to translate your Spanish for you, unless you're targeting Mexicans. Most Mexicans have very little idea how to speak proper Spanish. They have *******ized the Spanish language like none other. Venezuelans are a close second.

If you're selling to Spain, use a Spaniard. If you're selling to South America, use a Colombian or Peruvian. Also forget Argentinians unless specifically targeting them.

This is true most of the times. I have heard from different sources that Colombians speak the most neutral Spanish.

        Thanks for the tips, guys.

How about a Bolivian? Chilean? Or Argentinean?

And what if the individual claims to know how to write in neutral Spanish? Then it's ok?

Argentian Spanish uses "vos" which is ok for people from Spain but not the rest of South America. They also use a lot of slang, like Mexicans.

Bolivian's are ok, Chileans should be at the bottom of this list, IF your market is Latin America:

          1. Colombian
          2. Peruvian
          3. Ecuador
          4. Boliva
          5. Chile

Unless marketing directly to the following countries, do not use a native from that country:

          1. Mexico
          2. Venezuela
          3. Argentina

Each of those countries use a lot of slang and colloquial words. The good news is, they will be ok and respond to proper Spanish. But a Colombian will not respond to bast-ardized Spanish from a Mexican.

Yes, Argentinean uses "vos", but it's not exactly the same in Spain, so be careful.

If you want to target the whole Latin American market, nationality is not that important as long as the translator can write in neutral Spanish for Latin America. Translating into neutral requires experience, so ask for this experience. For example, translators working in the subtitling industry are probably well-experienced with neutral Spanish.

Are you looking to have your website translated to Portuguese from Brazil or from Portugal? I'm a native Portuguese speaker from Portugal with extensive translation experience and a great attention to detail. I'm available to work on this if you want Portuguese from Portugal.

Believe it or not I've had good experience on Fiverr - and it doesn't get much cheaper. I was having translations in Portuguese so I tested a few, and had a native speaker pick the best one. I now use them on a regular basis.
