Do those "professional" style squeeze pages convert well?

I have a offline consulting business that I'll be starting in June. It's not IM related.

I want to create a sales funnel but I do not want those "zanny" looking graphics, etc that you see on IM related squeeze/sales pages.

I want a page something like this: ( minus the money making banner at the bottom)

#convert #pages #professional #squeeze #style

There are many factors that go into whether or not a squeeze page will convert. The most important of which is does the visitor believe you have the solution to their problem.

The reason you see so many of the same squeeze page styles in the IM area is that:

    1. A guru said it converts.
    2. The template comes free with OptimizePress.
    3. People generally don't know how to do anything else, so they do what they were told converts, and they use whatever tools they have to publish a squeeze page.

      That's a pretty good list!

For what it's worth I completely agree with this.

Those generic, squeeze pages you see are often created because the person knows little else. Personally as a reader, I have long been turned-off by them.

Find out what your prospects like, what they feel and what they respond to, and make sure you page mirrors it. I know I keep banging on about research, but it's massively important and largely overlooked in my opinion.

      Hope that helps

IMO, 99% of the conversions will come from the product on the other side, even the ugliest squeeze page can and will convert high...

I agree with alex, it depends on the quality of the product or the solution you are offering. you need to convince them that you have a solution for their problem.

Most of times, you can create a less professional looking squeeze pages and still get a good conversion rate. Your squeeze page can look like crap and you can still get more leads then a good looking and more professional page that these large companies have.

I agree. if people want something, they are going to sign up no matter what. I think the vast majority of the people that turn away from your squeeze page, turn away because they didn't think the product on the other side was what they were looking for. Of course I don't have the actual stats, but I feel safe saying this is what I believe.

Don't get me wrong, good graphics helps some, but nowhere near as much as having the answer on the other end.

Yes, I get that. But when you're selling a very high end service, it's probably best to project a certain image.

My background is in Mergers & Acquisitions and I'll be offering M&A advisory services. Having crappy looking marketing materials does not look very credible, maybe for selling IM products, that would work.

In my industry you want to project a image of excellence and prestige along with credibility.

        Thanks for the reply.

The important thing is that the offer is easy to
understand with minimal reading and the layout
supports quick comprehension of that offer.

Generally, the more fields you ask for the lower
the conversion of a squeeze page. However
lots of people will enter fields that will surprise
you and if you are set up to do direct mail
and/or phone marketing, using methods other than
email can really boost your sales in the long
          term.

Layout wise, reversed type (light type on
darker background) is really hard for readers
          to rapidly comprehend.

Personally the crappy materials matter a lot less than the message your visitors are reading. They will read that long before they see the background color.

My guess is that you don't need this advice - have you considered a multi-tier arrangement for your services? A single one-off, a step up and a monthly consulting gig for the top-end guys? You can offer a cast-iron guarantee to encourage the ditherers. It is this latter that also states your authority - and speaks directly to people who really know their business.

Appearing honest is tough - so tell someone what you don't do. We aren't supermen, we are ordinary souls trying to earn our keep. It doesn't always go well. Telling them what went wrong on one occasion will pay big dividends: your better clients don't mind (most of them are human too) and the horrid tetchy ones that are never satisfied don't like it (and they are the ones who cost you money!).

I'm a firm believer that a product can be excellent but if you don't have a good design that accompanies the whole package, you are losing a lot of potential customers...
