Ben Hart's Marketing and Copywriting Checklist

Ben Hart keeps this checklist close when working on copywriting projects.

Five-Minute Marketing Plan

Examples:

"--Use a cheap lead generation letter for high-priced products and services. Then send those who answer your more costly hard-hitting, high-impact, extensively personalized package designed to close the sale.

--If you tell a story, it should not be longer than a few lines. The shorter and more stunning the better.

--
No story is better than the wrong story.

-Learn the 17 top reasons people buy: fear, greed, love, self-improvement, desire to win, desire to be recognized, comfort, laziness, quest for a great experience, sex, desire for relationships, anger, desire to make a difference, desire for meaning in life, desire for power, necessity of life, addiction.

--
Ask your reader to give you a "yes" or "no" answer. "Maybe later" is the same as "no." Never allow a "maybe later" answer."

I see he's up to $600 million. Was "only" $500 million last time I noticed.

Anyway, Ben offers a free book on copywriting, "How To Write Blockbuster Sales Letters" here...

Awesome checklist. Funny how most business owners could improve their own copy just by following this list - of course it won't be as polished as professionals but it'll be better than the crap they get from people selling them ad space.

I mean, that thing is a good outline/marketing in a nutshell.
