    You may run into legal issues if you go ahead with it
    because the book and brand "Your Marketing Sucks"
    is taken, as shown here...Your Marketing Sucks | Mark Stevens, CEO of MSCO.

    Even if it passes the legal test, it will be seen as a poor imitator.

    So another X against the whole idea.

    Best,
    Ewen

    It's a very bold thing to tell someone something they put blood sweat and tears into sucks. Even if it really does suck. If it does, and you put it that blunt, you better be an AUTHORITY to have the right to come at me that way!

  • It's not original as Ewen said. Try to think of a title you could build a $100 million business around.

    When I was testing titles for my books I'd make up a fake cover on the computer and then wrap it around an existing book. I'd carry it around all day and people always asked about the book I was reading. I'd say, oh it's my new book called "blah blah blah" and watch their reaction from the title alone.

    You way not want to go through all that, but consider you may be living with a book series for years, selling it at personal events, promoting it at trade shows, in the media, etc.

    It depends on who you're targeting. A younger audience is more likely to accept the in-your-face approach than geezers like me. As mentioned, the title is in use but that doesn't mean you can't come up with a different face-slapper. Another thing, video testimonials are great for people who like video. Video also has greater appeal to a younger market. Be smart and provide text endorsements as well.

    Hi Everybody

    thanks for comments if you have suggestions about another face slap title please let me know for testing.

    ==>travlinguy and newcomer

    I'm lunching social network, film school and this consult 10% Profits Guaranteed in the next 30 days so I work 10 hours per day and understand other business owners.

    Face slap title should bring customers who are more "relaxed" or "desperate" and ready to take action to implement

    Like price brings good or bad customers

    ==>Rick Duris

    I don't know if you are making fun of me or just performed very smart swipe

    If it's real i would put time frame when it will happen

    With PPC and split testing you can deliver numbers to client within 30 days or less...

    I would create min 2 packages once you know your numbers

    BASIC - title plus design

    Gold - above plus guarantee that it will be bestseller on kindle

    Diamond - above plus we write book for you

    ==> Joe Ditzel

    I'm ready to create fake covers

    Any ideas in this tone will help

    I'll test positive title too

    ==> Ewen

    thanks for pointing this out

    didn't bother to check just grabbed high serach keyword and added Suck

    to my knowledge you can't copyright titles

    it was 2005

    so i don't see legal problem but once people google there will be confusion since we do same thing for business

    any ideas in same tone will be great

    thanks again
    mike

    It'd definitely be in for legal troubles. A title can't be copyrighted, but it can be trademarked. As such, the guy with the original book could come after you for misleading his customers into thinking they're buying his product when they're buying yours. Just 'cause it seems legal to you doesn't mean it is. Consult a lawyer - that's the best way to cover your ass.

    Unless you're only targeting submissive business misfits who like to lick high heel shoes in the closet, the title is a turn off. It sounds immature and arrogant.
