Good sales page conversion

I would like to know what conversions do you usually get with your sales pages, and at what percentage do you consider you have a good sales page ?

Thank you,
Gab

I've always heard 2% is good...but of course, if 2% isn't making you money, than it's not enough. I do a lot of writing for others and to be honest, I'm not happy with 2% (since this is what I hear a lot of people striving for) and I'll continue reworking until they are up to 3.5% or better.

I've got one product of my own that was doing almost 6%. Then I added a voice message to it and it shot up over 8%. I'm now tweaking the letter in hopes to get it up even higher.

So..2% is what I hear is a good number to get. But, I think you can always find ways to increase it from there.

Net profit is the only figure you need to really worry about when it comes to conversion - if you're making money, good - if you're not making money, bad.

Coversion rates alone don't really tell you much at all, apart from your rate of conversion.

In general, I agree with you.
However, it can be used as potentially projective.
But conversion rates vary all over the place -- and to ACCURATELY determine conversion rates you have to do more things than most people are interested in futzing with -- such as making sure that you control the source of traffic to a page, etc.
I can tell you so many ways your stats can be in error (not even including the inaccurate or at best, imprecise, interpretations people make.) It's not at all uncommon to have conversion rates vary quite widely -- even as much as 300% different -- depending upon the affiliate sending the traffic.
