Copywriting, the good, the bad and the ugly...Do you prefer to use/read text, graphics or both?

When it comes to sale copy do you prefer to read/use text, graphics or both and why?

I feel it is dependent on the circumstances and what you're selling. In some instances it's great to read a highly thought out sales copy and sometimes there's just too much to be said without the graphics to break it up.

What are your thoughts?

True but I'm looking for a wider range of audience to answer the question then just those who work in copywriting. Especially newbies or those who have been around the block a few times and have read their share of sales copy.

    Thanks for the suggestion though!

Looks like I didn't get much of a choice in the matter, hopefully someone else can help with an opinion on the subject!

If possible, I prefer both text and graphics. Like it or not, there are going to be a lot of people skimming your sales page.

The headline and sub-heads should catch someone's attention and peak their curiosity to entice them to read more of the sales page.

And sometimes, you can best do this with images too.

Especially if you're dealing with something extremely visual by nature... like weight loss, or fitness... showing before/after pictures can really hook someone in.

Of course you should never slack on the copy...

As with anything, it all goes back to doing whatever supports the pitch. If you need words, use those. If you need images, use those. If you need them both, use them both.

    Hope this helps.

they work well together, I don't enjoy a lot of graphics though as i am old school, I believe graphics should enhance the words.

in the end though its all about the offer. if the offer is great ( the product) and you are selling to a starving crowd then how you get that message across wont matter much
