Pace, pace, pace, lead... ("yes sets" for old school sales warriors) powerful stuff.

Not unlike using editorial formats or making envelopes look like they're personal letters (a la the Prince O' Print - Halbert) to get past the resistance.

Is there ANYTHING new these days?

Pretty sure Jon Benson invented VSls because he was already delivering content in that format and it was being consumed like crazy.

And as CopyMonster points out, this is the 10-million-year-old "advertorial secret."

Alas, Agora doesn't actually do this, or most anyone else as far as I can tell, which is why it seems like a breakthrough...

Newsmax had a good run with the "newsroom" promos, which works in much the same way... THIS IS NOT A SALES LETTER!

Same thing I was thinking. His point was that all top copywriters
        are from South Florida.

Right, I watched this last night and wasn't sure I got it.

Now I'm watching it again and I'm still confused.

So he acknowledges it's a VSL at the start using a sales video format, but says we shouldn't use the format that's identified with selling when selling because it makes the prospect put up a filter, which means to get his message across he shouldn't have used a powerpoint VSL.

But, then he says he chose the VSL format to prove his point.

Like I said, I'm not sure I get it. What am I supposed to learn? That it's effective to say at the start 'this isn't your average sales video', or is it about reprogramming people to expect VSL powerpoint format videos that don't sell?
