Top copywriting controversies

Hi everyone,

I'm following the heated discussions in the main Warrior forum on refund/no refund policies, and it got me thinking, what are the big controversies in copywriting?

What issues have no clear right or wrong answer but get hotly debated by people at all levels of the field?

The one issue that occurred to me is long copy versus short copy.

What are others?

The one that always pisses me off is when everyone argues over whether I'm smarter or better looking.

    DUH people!

The most basic one is : what is a copywriter?

Let's hear some answers from those in the job. I bet not many will be able to pin it.

The idea was for you to describe yourself.

What would you suggest a copywriter is?

The debate I love are the variations of: Do we need to make the distinction between digital copywriters and traditional copywriters? This topic gets a lot of traction in the linkedin writers' groups discussions. I once saw a linkedin discussion/debate with hundreds upon hundreds of comments.

  • ...the incredible inter web.

Yes it can be the road to fame and fortune.

    Providing clients understand...

All they are doing is putting and Ad in the biggest magazine in the universe.

Then they have to buy the circulation.

Or that phenomenal promotion just sits there all lonely, forlorn and unread.
