But Wait... There's More!
Haven't been on the forum in quite some time but had something come up today that I felt was felt sharing.
As I've mentioned in some of my previous posts, I'm constantly working on honing and building my skills.
Case in point, I started studying infomercials last year or so. Specifically to try and pick up some tactics in their voice-over scripting that might be applicable or useable with video salesletters.
One of the first books I picked up was "But Wait ... There's More!" which I thought was GREAT.
I needed to recommend it to a client today... and when I looked it up on Amazon to email him the link, I saw they're selling the Kindle version (readable on Kindle, smartphones, or through Amazon's free desktop reader) for 99 cents which is an absolute steal.
No kidding... I bought the Kindle version myself even though I already own the hardcover version of the book.

Most of the book focuses on the history of infomercials and pitchmen but there's also some great insider industry tactics shared too.
The book has a great description on Amazon which I'll quote below:
Along the way, Stern details the history behind the classic products and introduces readers to some of the most famous (and infamous) pitchmen and personalities in the business, including Tony Robbins, Billy Mays, Ron Popeil, Tony Little, Suzanne Somers, Kevin Trudeau, and Joe Francis. He also presents an in-depth look at the business behind the camera—the canny sales strategies, clever psychological tools, and occasionally questionable tactics marketers have used to get us to open up our wallets and spend, spend, spend. |
