Looking for copywriter to help me write persuasive emails!

I am looking for a great copywriter that has what it takes to convince top executives.

I am in the Media world - New York City market and want to reach to 2-3 top media executives.

I need someone who writes super smart and in a very short email can persuade them to write back and eventually have a short meeting with them.

I have an amazing work experience (but from a European market), being on of the top, and therefore you will be selling a good product that just needs the right packaging.

Inbox me with your rates and why you are the best for the job!

Thank you

  • Hi Lazy,

Don't send emails to top execs, chances are unless the "senders" name is recognised they'll be zapped (and that super duper, very expensive world class copy never gets read).

Instead send a letter by FedEx. In the history of the world no one has not opened the packet.

By the way does the "Private and Confidential" on top of the envelope make any difference ?

Good advice, Steve... I actually learned this tip back in 2008 or so, when listening to John Angelache and Ryan Healy do some copy coaching.

They advised us to send out "resumes" or copywriting solicitations by Fed Ex or UPS, because of the impact it had. Those usually find their way to the right person.

So, back when I first started out copywriting for health niches, I had a huge Rolodex of health publications that hired copywriters. It came with AWAI's Secrets of Writing for the Health Market.

Anyways, I had a list of around 500 health companies who hired copywriters, so I sent out 100 Fed Ex envelopes to test.

I got an "okay" response, maybe heard back from 10 of them. I say "okay" because even one of these could have led to million dollar work.

But... the REAL key to my success was the next batch of 100 I sent out.

I followed up the mailing with both an email AND a phone call, and this time got about 30 phone consults!

Much, much better results when I followed up the Fed Ex with a phone call.... but Steve's right... this is a GREAT way to cut through the clutter and it's something Gary Bencivenga has talked about as well, when trying to sell high-ticket items!

  • We should have mentioned we all own stock in FedEx (lol).

    Steve

P.S. Thinking about it considering the money we and the clients have spend with them over the years they should be giving us some stock.

It's worth considering the approach this NYC copywriter took to land a job:

      That's effing brilliant.

      And everyone Google's themselves.

Call it curiosity. Call it paranoia. Call it ego.

      As for the Fedex idea.

It'll definitely get your letter opened.

Check out thinkinkmarketing.com. There are some good ideas on there for getting shit opened.

  • Remember the guys who were walking "posters" usually with Ads saying "Big Sale Today At Browns Department Store - Up To 70% Off"

A few good people did this advertising themselves and wandered by the offices and carparks of their favourite employers.

And made sure they were outside the restaurants where the senior staff went to lunch.

Didn't take them long to get a few interviews.

hehe I am too shy to do that Steve, but have tried Facebook ads so far. i think the google idea is great. might give it a shot!

I've done some amazing things in my career, but selling myself the right way is definitely not one of them. Always learning though. Thank you guys!!

I've worked with a guy who has landed $11 million worth of contracts with corporates like MacDonalds, Burger King, Proctor And Gamble, Bank Of America
Western Union and other BIG corporates.

He only uses email as first contact.

I know how he puts them together.

      I've seen them.

Let me know if this is what you want.

      Best,
      Ewen
