My copy or Their copy?

Hi I created my first product in the weight loss niche. This is my first ever product, I have done research on marketing and demographics and found out my traffic sources, auto responder messages etc.

What I want to ask you guys here in the copywriting forum (which I am quite fond of now) was this:

Since this is my first product, I don't have much capital, my plan is currently to write my own copy to the best of my ability. Then my plan is to save all the initial money I make from selling the product to hire a professional copywriter.

What do you guys think of this?

I appreciate that link. I probably should have used the search function... shame on me.

Anyways, the past 2 weeks I have consumed hours of theory on copy. I realised that the better I get at writing copy the better I can understand the marketplace, how/where to position myself and my products.

I have a fair understanding of how a sale occur and what it takes to make a sale. But I am by far a copywriter yet.

The last couple of days I wrote a few versions of a sales letter, which I am going through and improving to the best of my ability.

What do you guys think of not hiring someone to write my sales letter from scratch. But to hire a professional to revise my own copy?

If you post the copy that you've come up with so far you'll get better feedback about what you should do.

Unless you've studied some Copywriting, chances are there won't be any resulting sales from writing your own copy, and not to mention, you still have to get traffic to the landing page, which you have to pay for. SEO is slow, and grueling, and won't give you enough traffic in a short enough time to generate enough sales from your product (with the copy you'll have there) to hire a decent copywriter.
