Dear Friend,

As you can see I have attached a $1 bill to the top of this letter.

Why have I done this? There are two reasons:

1. I thought a $1 bill would be a good way to get your attention

2. What I am about to tell you could make you a lot of money

Here is what this is all about: I have been renovating the finest homes in Calgary for over 30 years now.

During this time I have discovered numerous ways to make homes more beautiful and valuable for their owners. In fact my renovations have even been featured in Home and Garden magazine.

I have renovated the homes of some of the wealthiest Calgarians. Including the home of the Vice President of Shell Oil Canada, and the owner of a multi-billion dollar oil company in Texas.

The wealthy and powerful settle for nothing less than the absolute best. Neither should you. That´s why I am writing today about my home renovation services.

My services are an investment in your most valuable, your home. A renovated home:

    If your intention is to give away a lot of one dollar bills, then you're right on track.

    If you want people with a lot of money to take you seriously (and take action,) you're far away from the copy you need.

    30 years you've been doing this renovation stuff, right?

    Well, in 30 years you must have produced some pretty awesome results. If not, you wouldn't have been in business for 30 years... You following?

    So how much have your renovations increased the value of people's homes?

    Did your clients sell their homes and attribute a higher price tag to your work?

    Did clients write you killer testimonials - expressing massive appreciation for giving them a home they're truly proud of and love showing off to their friends?

    If you answered "YES!" to my questions, you're a fool for not using proof in your copy.

    If you answered "NO!," I worry.

    You can test the $1 angle all day long, but personally, I'd ditch it and focus on results.
