What do you guys think of this landing page?

Personally, I've learned a lot from Dean Jackson over the years... one of the most important things being... simple works better, most of the time.

So, seeing this landing page he posted on Facebook today... you can't get much simpler.

Hypnotize Your Husband

Too simple? Do you think it will work?

Of course, it's all about testing it... but it's one of the more simple ones I've seen!

P.S. Sorry, I meant to put "squeeze page" in the thread post....

P.P.S. And I should have said guys and gals... not just guys!

And so are SUITS. And many other items.

But just 'coz you saw your comrade in a nice suit in the office doesn't mean you go wearing the same in BED. Your foolishness won't be justified in a millions years.

So everything for the right purpose people.

There's a reason why Google is worth B-B-B-Billions.... and is king of the search engines... while all others are a distant memory.

Yeah Google has made it dead simple for the user to get exactly what he/she wants...fast.

And why more people go back to Google search more than other search engines because they get what they want, or as Google says being relevant.

            Totally like it...

But I'd go one step further.....I'd remove the optin form and put it inside the ebook itself (which I assume is a PDF).

So the prospect downloads the ebook, (no strings attached) and starts reading it.

They find some great information, and after a minute or so just as they're really getting into the content, a popup opens inside the ebook containing your optin form.

Now the reader has to optin to finish reading the book.

If they don't optin, the ebook closes. If they do optin, they can continue reading.

            Just an idea

              Not a good one.

Ticked off people don't make good prospects. And your tactic would tick a large percentage of the ebook readers off.

6 tests over 7 months sending 5000 visitors to a page where I did exactly as I described.

I got between a 49% to 78% increase in optins over the 'standard' squeeze page'

I'll take that any day of the week.

As for 'ticking' off a a reader..... it really depends on the personalized message that accompanies your optin form.

Lots of space is fine. I like the Title on the ebook cover. However, the text below the title I would make a little larger/bolder.

I would test what you have here to a page with more content. For example below the optin add some highlights of the book. Testimonial/reviews. About the author. And then drop another optin form below any content you add or a button that brings the reader back to the top of the page and the optin form.

Adding content can adds credibility to the offer and usually leads to a better list for me.

    Good luck.

I like the simple approach he uses.

Wonder if there's a "How To Hypnotize Your Wife"

    "How To Hypnotize Your Boyfriend"

    "How To Hypnotize Women"

Actually, the whole approach he's using could be summed up with the headline:

"How To Hypnotize Your Client"...get their attention quickly and build curiosity.

The headline he uses instantly creates a whole plethora of thoughts in the mind of the reader.

I like the simplicity of it.

I am new to IM really but after looking at so many others sales pages that seem to go on and on and on and then on some more, to be honest I get bored of these and click out before I get to the end no matter how fantastic the offer is.

Of course, each to their own and what suits me, or your subscribers like me may not be the same as those who's subscribers are paying them a huge revenue.

It would be interesting to see how it develops in terms of clicks etc though

I like how simple it is. To be honest I'm getting a bit burnt out on long sales pages. I personally would add more attention to the:

"How to make him love you... only you... ...and never even look at anybody else."

The "HYPNOTIZE YOUR HUSBAND!" Part does not seem like it is answering a problem. It is simply the path to getting what you want. Being so large and in bold distracts me.

I would also see if some other memorable or problem solving quotes can be used on the page from within the book. I would not clutter this though, maybe 2 more at most.

I think it's all a "case by case" basis... and every market is different....

But I'm starting to think that there's something to this ultra-simple approach.

A lot of my squeeze pages are pretty wordy compared to that one.

so, for shits and giggles I'm running a few new pages modeled after
    the one above.

One is in weight loss, one in finance, and one in dating/relationships.

All 3 are hovering around 50% optin rate. Adwords traffic doing better
    than facebook.

But for all, I really thought long and hard about the most primal urges and needs of the market, based on that particular product/niche.

Then I made a page with a headline and one line of copy that was based on either solving one REAL big problem or offering one big benefit/promise.

But like an onion, I tried to really peel back the layers and think of primal needs and urges... something that would really get the reader wanting to opt in.

Sure, it's been harder, trying to come up with these squeeze pages that hinge on just a headline and one line of copy... but it's been worth it, so far.

I think having 2 lines of copy that just hits the reader in the gut and digs at that primal urge that's based on that market... that works better than having several lines of copy that doesn't hit those primal urges/needs/wants/desires.

Great idea and one I am going to try myself.

Over the past few days I have downloaded lots of samples and they go on and on and on and they seem to reinforce what has already been said. they bore me to tears... I want it short, to the point and then let me have it.

Am I the only person like this? No way, so maybe pluck that market as you would a niche.

The idea of getting the trigger words within a short copy is the way to go also I think.

But remember I am only just writing my first ever freebow and emails so what do I know ;-)

    Shawn...

if you looked at my "famous" WARNING squeeze page.... the one that everyone and their mother now "uses" in IM and some sell as their own (super uncool and lame)

the version that did really well was essentially a WARNING graphic, a headline and an optin form.

    thats IT!

Simple squeeze pages typically tend to do better from my testing. (I test in NON IM niches)

Confirmations went up by, 11% to 28% . I put that down to the simple fact that I chose to build up some trust in the visitors / prospects eyes by initially giving them what they wanted upfront, with no string attached.

I didn't make the first thing they saw when they landed on my page, an optin form they had to fill in!

Because that p_ _ ses visitors off too!

Will readers get 'ticked' off when a popup window opens after a minute or so containing an optin form and a personalized message from me?

If it turned out that a significant number of the readers were turned off seeing my popup message and optin form appear while they were reading the PDF, it would have become glaring obvious in the stats. because my optin numbers would have taken a big hit, as would have my confirmations.

The fact that my popup/optin form and message appears inside the PDF, gives me one more chance to get a personal message to me reader/prospect.. And the more chances I get to do that, the more chances I have to build up that all important 'trust'.

Also, I can set up my optin form and message to appear when the reader closes the PDF instead of when they open it

        So it's all totally flexible.

video on squeeze pages in EVERY test i've done *DECREASED* optins.

but interesting to test optin % vs ROI.

you might find some crazy results.

The winner with more $$ might have a lower optin, but higher conversion.

you never know. gotta test :-)

This is quite a simple opt-in page and simple does work its magic, but
also the title and wording on the book itself does some selling so they
would substitute for the usual bullet points.

    Again, simple works.
